Darcy Copeland - Ghosts & Monsters (Senglar Version)

Being my second solo track, this is a musical form of pixie dust with a little stomp of techno. Throwing in some experimental sounds & samples, you now have Celestial Awakening.

Celestial Awakening

I decided to make this a slow dance of tones, working mainly with the timbre on the Buchla Easel, which provided one of the tones and the modulation "blobs" on the Terra, which provided the other. Both were tuned to the same frequency. I used Logic "Space Designer" to modulate a bit of movement but aside from the internal reverbs in both the Buchla Easel and Terra, I resisted the urge to thrown even more effects at the final mix. So, that's it. A couple of tones dancing slowly with one another, moving up to a climax and then fading away.

I'VE BEEN DREAMING OF YOU

Taken from my third LP, Corkscrew Soul. 

Written, recorded and produced by me. 

This is a stripped back track without drums. I wanted there to be some friction for the listener, so it's not meant to be the easiest of listens in places; there's at least one discord in there. During the cello line in the chorus, I imagined an elephant trudging off to die alone, which might be the most pretentious thing I've ever said. 

But I hope it's an interesting track nonetheless with different layers to explore. 

This song also has a sister track, Winter of Discontent of Your Life, which is the last track on the LP; I Won't Be Found coming at the halfway point on the album. 

Does it all make more sense now? Probably not.
