Sounds from the Rail Yard

Field recording/ ambient noise composition, of a street sweeper machine; two live mics capturing the sounds of a street sweeper, cicadas, grackles, urban noise, and an old Siamese cat on Theresa Ave in Austin, Tx. The results here were created by overlapping the two tracks during the mix, one track was played in reverse mode and enhanced by a tape echo effect.

free form shortwave radio composition created using RF sweeps/noise, dialogue. The first half of this composition is a live radio feed, both very slow and rapid dial sweeps utilized to manipulate tone contrast, feedback and noise, during the 2nd half the initial track is looped then accompanied by a fuzzy rhythmic radio loop and other sounds I generated around my home (a singing tea kettle solo from my kitchen, and grackles from the yard)
