Audio Flyer for the Polka and Theatr Iolo co-production of Tidy that will be touring Wales in February and March 2025.  

The Tidy play is based on the illustrated children’s book by Emily Gravett. The play is co-created by Lee Lyford, Lucy Rivers & Rachael Canning. 

Tidy is a gentle but cautionary tale about the value of the world around us and what happens if we don’t look after it, targeted at ages 3-7 years old.

Hello, I am Michelle and I will be audio describing the Tidy show going on tour in February and March 2025. 

Theatr Iolo and Polka have co-produced Tidy, which is based on the illustrated children’s book by Emily Gravett.  

With beautiful puppets, lots of lovely songs and a touch of silliness, this playful story will delight young audiences, as it explores how everyone needs a little bit of wild chaos in their lives.  

Hi I am Pete the Badger and I like everything to be neat and tidy! 
Tidying the flowers, 
Checking each patch, 
Snipping off any, 
That don’t quite match
Vacuuming the trees,
Vacuuming the grass,
Reaching all the tricky bits,
Til it’s looking first class,
I like to keep things clean,
I like to keep things neat,
I Keep the Forest Tidy,
Your friend Pete!

When autumn comes, and all the leaves start falling, Pete gets a little bit carried away with cleaning up the forest and accidently destroys his own home! Hopefully all his friends can help him fix it before it is too late. 

Tidy has been directed by Lee Lyford, composed by Lucy Rivers and the set, costume and puppets were designed by Rachael Canning. The lighting was designed by Jane Lalljee and the sound was designed by Yvonne Gilbert. 

I will be audio describing Tidy at The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff on Saturday 15 February 2025 at 2pm, at Blackwood Miners Institute on Tuesday 25 February at 10.30am and at The Riverfront in Newport on Thursday 27 February at 10.30am. There will also be a Touch Tour half hour before the show starts on each of these dates. I will take you on a guided tour around the set, where I will explain in detail what it looks like.

Tidy Audio Flyer

This Christmas, Hannah McPake will take you on a brand-new adventure from bombed out streets in post-war Cardiff and into Wonderland, all from the comfort of your Sherman Main House seat. 

Alice: Return to Wonderland promises to be another amazing, joyous and spectacular Christmas show for everyone aged 7+.

Written and directed by Hannah McPake, the music will be composed by Lucy Rivers and Barnaby Southgate will be the Musical Director with sound designed by Sam Jones. Alice Eklund will be the Associate Director. The set will be designed by Elin Steele with Andy Pike designing the lighting.  

Keiron Self, Caitlin Lavagna, Elian Mae West, Emily Ivana Hawkins, Joe Tweedale, Mari Fflur, Max James, Oliver Wood and Zara Law will all be starring in the show. 

Alice: Return to Wonderland will be audio described in English at The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff on Saturday 13 December 2025 at 7pm. There will also be a Touch Tour half hour before the show starts. You will go on a guided tour around the set, where I will explain in detail what it looks like.

Guide dogs are welcome in the theatre. The Sherman can offer seats on the end of the row to make your visit easier. Please inform the Box Office when booking your ticket and ask for information on any special effects that might affect the comfort of your dog during the production. Alternatively, your dog can be looked after by a member of the team who are happy to provide a water bowl or take the dog for a walk.

The main entrance at Senghennydd Road has level-access directly into the foyer. There are two sets of assisted sliding doors and there is a drop-off point directly outside with a dropped kerb leading to the main entrance. There is one wheelchair available for transfers and there are lifts and accessible toilets on all levels.
