Adriaan de Roover AKA Oaktree brings moody and enchanting electronic music, which finds a balance between the dancefloor and the living room. His productions represent touching harmonies, spherical soundscapes and minimalist beats.

He gets his inspiration from a broad spectrum of electronic music ranging from contemporary bass music and experimental hiphop to modern day classical music, and everything in between.

Oaktree’s Chapters EP is the result of years of polishing and crafting his sound. The EP is getting a special release to celebrate Record Store Day through [PIAS] Recordings Belgium, a label he shares with acts like Melanie De Biasio, Float Fall and Oscar & The Wolf.

When playing Live, Oaktree deviates from the basic producer + laptop setup. On stage he combines live electronics with vocals and a broad spectrum of acoustic instruments like violin, harp and piano. The result is a breathtaking combo which leaves nobody untouched.

The Oaktree Chapters EP is out on limited 12” for Record Store Day (April 19th).

Vertical is the debut single by Speaker Face, a Toronto-based experimental electronic duo.  

Good things comes to those who are patient. Vertical is dark and powerful, staged in three acts: The electronic, the organic, the instrumental. The track opens with muted beats, melting into a supporting role as Speaker Face teases out the emotion from between the strings of the violin and the tremors of Rachel Sermanni's ethereal voice. Full of twists and turns, Vertical rewards each listen with a new sonic gem; it is never the same as you left it.

Orogenesis is the process in which mountains are formed. This piece is a meditation on the perpetual transformations and movements of our planet, and the relatively tiny blip of time that we have to enjoy it. To us, it feels "still," but the Earth is not stagnant. It is in a constant state of fluidity, and the occasional times we witness it's shifts, we are quickly reminded of our delicate position on it’s surface. In mountain years, we humans are mere dinner guests, stopping in for a meal and leaving after a beer. Let’s do our best not to break the nice dishes and leave a bunch of fucking wine stains on the carpet.
