Thus, an impressive roaster of top notch remixers have worked on his material, ie Ripperton (ESP, Tamed), Love Over Entropy (Lossless, OFF recordings), MAN2.0 (Espacio Cielo, Nein Records), Iori Wakasa (Dessous, Get Physical), Gregorythme (Cadenza, Cityfox), Onur Ozman (Rebirth, Noir Music), Jacques Bon (Smallville, Permanent Vacation) and up and coming producer Paul Callens (Special place) have all contributed with interpretations of Ly Sander’s tracks. Sordid Sound System made a storming entrance on Special place by remixing Treasure Island's track 'No Loss'. He returns to the label with his own productions, showing his mastery in the assembly of sonic atmospheres. Every element seems to fall right into place, every sound triggers yet another emotion.

This EP is the closest that Sordid has come to flirting with the 1980s. Throughout its duration, you can hear the sonic imprint of early 80s neo-noir cinema such as Bladerunner, Scarface, and Escape From New York.

'The Great Psychic Outdoors' is a masterpiece imbued with the DNA of the bastard lovechild of John Carpenter and The Cure. One of those tracks you could play on a tape loop for hours. Because it feels intriguing and frightening, but draws you in. Just like hiding away in a tree house and watching the world from above on a rainy day.

'I Dream Of Electric Sheep' delivers Sordid's so-called 'motorik dub', one foot in disco, one foot in the Caribbean, with a nod to Compass Point classics by the likes of Talking Heads and Grace Jones. Like the rest of this EP, these qualitative sounds called for a stellar remixer. With close to a hundred remixes under the belt for artists ranging from Radiohead to Isolée or Romanthony and a massive catalogue of productions that dared to leave dance music for ambient sonic explorations, Ripperton was the perfect pick.

His reimagining of 'I Dream of Electric Sheep' transports us into daring dreamlike realms of rhythmic exploration, Deckard's beat-up Spinner escapes the smog of the dystopian city for the clouds high above.

And to close us out with a vital burst of cracked up mechanical energy, 'David, I'm Just A Curious Soul' brings searing phantasmagorical acid-house to the imaginary dancefloor of a late 80s warehouse party on the lower East side of New York.

Mushrooms Project is Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano, producers and serial collectors of vinyl with a common passion for dj’ing and for any type of music whatsoever. The project came into being in 2003 when Giorgio, a punk band drummer and vinyl collector with a strong preference for anything from psychedelic rock to Afro, meets Marco a deejay since 1994 who mixes every possible kind of dance music; from afro to house, passing through techno and progressive.
The first step was to put their affinities together and create a dj duo with a strong experimental and eclectic inclination. In 2006 Marco and Giorgio move into more slo-mo sounds, offering low bpm music with psychedelic influences but also taking in funk, pop, afro and disco house. The following year the duo turn to producing their
own music and get noticed by Stevie Kotey and Paul Murphy who push them to their first release.
Leng, Claremont56, XXX, Bear Funk, Electric Minds, Under The Shade, Tirk, Pizzico, Slow Motion, Ararat Masis, Exotic Refreshement, Is it Balearic!, Uber, Hell Yeah!, Jansen Jardin, Ene Japan, Magic Wand, Clandestino, Rotten City, Balearic Social and Others have all released music by the Mushrooms and these labels mark their first
thirdten years of production activity.
2013 saw their debut album ‘Undergrass’ released on Leng Records, which was a continuous evolution of their sound elaborated in close contact with other musicians.
In 2015, Ivan King, a talented guitarist who had collaborated many times with the Mushrooms Project, became an integral part of their productions.
Mushrooms Project have now dj’ed across the world and are known for theirhallucinating and all encompassing music that is made using live instrumentation such as guitar, bass, synth and percussion to create a “dirty” but unique insight to thevery long, deep, mesmerizing and unusual minds of the Mushrooms.

An AI developer by day and co-founder of the DJ crew @lasacreedeter by night, he seamlessly blends his eclectic musical background with his electronic music endeavours.

He makes a perfect fit with the label Special place's quest to present an array of dance music that doesn't necessarily square down to boxes. 

So expect an array of tracks that reflect Paul Callens's wide-ranging musical journey. From the distinct trumpet reverberations to the compelling guitar solos and prominent percussion, this EP invites listeners to an absorbing sonic experience. First out of two of Ly Sander's 'Landing' album samplers released on Special place, the package presents two tracks both serviced with a dedicated remix that offer a deep yet often unheard insight into what dance music can mean. 

Preoccupation about the impact of mankind on the planet is nothing new, as the radio excerpt at the basis of 'Marching to where' clearly exposes. Nevertheless, climate change or the war in Ukraine remind us cruelly how access to food at a reasonable price is currently at stake for parts of the world's population albeit our heavy colonization of the earth. Perspectives are rather gloomy and this track exposes just that, with a historical perspective. 

Jacques Bon was kind enough to take on remixing duties. He has released music on an array of high-rated record labels including Tim Sweeney's seminal imprint, Beats In Space, Mule Musiq, Giegling, Kann, Live At Robert Johnson and Smallville Records. Not just a solo flier, Jacques also co-produced choice deep-diving joints with the likes of Christopher Rau and Chicago House pioneers, Virgo Four. 

And if it's difficult to leave aside the seriousness of the topic of this track Jacques brought some hope and sweetness to his mix as well as his dreamy atmosphere. And with the increased bpm it's even dancefloor friendly, hurra!

He presented his own interpretation with his 'Camp in the Mountain Remix'. If it does convey the airiness of the heights, his remix also reminds of
the warm, dense and overwhelming density of a Tokyo packed club. What's your interpretation?

Twins contains vocal samples from a traditional Baganda chant dedicated to twins. The Baganda are the main ethnic group out of Uganda, country in which they dedicate a real worship to twins, with even a twins festival. The somewhat hypnotic chants matched well with a slomo house vibe made dreamy by the use of rich synth strings. The introduction of a rhythmic bassline offers a welcome sense of speed to the whole.

This is a style of drawing made famous by Belgian cartoonist Hergé in the 1930s, but which goes back even further, to Japanese woodblock cuts from the 17th century. Very much like those woodblock cuts, Love over Entropy's music is precise yet organic. To the point yet rich. Abstract yet familiar.

Love Over Entropy wished to name this EP 'Pleioné'. In Greek mythology, Pleioné was an Oceanid nymph and mother of the Pleiades. Pleioné presided over the multiplication of the flocks. This title thus seems utterly fitting, since the music seems to keep on coming and going, the same yet different, repeated yet with sounds adding to each other in waves. The whole gives a sense of being so subtle and deep that the mind gets to float freely in an boundless ocean of sounds.

This EP is the closest that Sordid has come to flirting with the 1980s. Throughout its duration, you can hear the sonic imprint of early 80s neo-noir cinema such as Bladerunner, Scarface, and Escape From New York.

'I Dream Of Electric Sheep' delivers Sordid's so-called 'motorik dub', one foot in disco, one foot in the Caribbean, with a nod to Compass Point classics by the likes of Talking Heads and Grace Jones. Like the rest of this EP, these qualitative sounds called for a stellar remixer. With close to a hundred remixes under the belt for artists ranging from Radiohead to Isolée or Romanthony and a massive catalogue of productions that dared to leave dance music for ambient sonic explorations, @Ripperton was the perfect pick.

His reimagining of 'I Dream of Electric Sheep' transports us into daring dreamlike realms of rhythmic exploration, Deckard's beat-up Spinner escapes the smog of the dystopian city for the clouds high above.

'The Great Psychic Outdoors' is a masterpiece imbued with the DNA of the bastard lovechild of John Carpenter and The Cure. One of those tracks you could play on a tape loop for hours. Because it feels intriguing and frightening, but draws you in. Just like hiding away in a tree house and watching the world from above on a rainy day.

Seekers is a dub-soaked, trance-tinged exploration of texture, rhythm, and atmosphere. Across three original tracks and a deep dub reinterpretation by Mozes, the record drifts between ambient dance, psychedelic shimmer, and experimental sound collage.

Born from the chaos of a sleepless coastal city, Seekers captures the fractured poetry of urban drift — soft and hazy one moment, tangled and dense the next. Built from field recordings, found tones, and analogue synth fragments, it feels like a collection of dream fragments from the in-between: half memory, half mirage.

Closing the release, Mozes reimagines one of the EP’s key pieces through a dub-rooted lens — a meditative descent into echo and weight, where bass becomes landscape and delay turns to dialogue.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gats is an electronic music producer and performer from Berlin, Germany, known for a unique style that blends elements of psychedelic rock, dub, and Balearic sounds to create music that is both relaxing and danceable. Gats has released several albums and EPs on labels like Invisible Inc., Voodoohop, Chill Mountain Records, both as a solo artist and as part of various musical projects, including Die Grillen, Gates, Changa Boys, ghostandthesong, Voltags, and many more.

This is 2020, Coronavirus locked down clubs and festivals. Nevertheless, in a forest near you, some haven’t accepted status quo. To them, dancing isn’t a weekly social routine but much more of a needed cure. They end up dancing under the moonlight. 

If the recording pre-dates the current situation, the lyrics come in just right but all the more poignantly that singer Matt Bessa passed away since then. His vocals shine just about as much as the covers moonlight. @gregorythme pushed the rather analogue original track further into intricate digital delicacies. A forest rave anthem of sorts, Under the moonlight is the second extraction from @ly-sander's to be released album.
