Berbush & Kotobuki debut on Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Shadows EP. Brazilian DJ and producer Berbush aka Bernardo Buschle has notched up a huge amount of respect among his peers due to his solid DJ performances and tight production. Kotobuki has worked alongside Bernardo on the their last three tracks and have proved to be a good connect with each bringing his own unique style, definitely a duo to be on the lookout for.

Shadows intros with a smooth and steady rhythmic drum arrangement that employs a punchy kick, crispy hats and a cool slapped drum pattern. A meandering and powerful bassline comes through and takes control as various synth plucks and FX form up. A short break brings in cool chords and a haunting voice that delivers Gregorian monk style that fits perfectly with the deeper house elements of the sound. Top notch stuff that will definitely perform well in any set.

Bonzai debutant Cartos shows up for remix duty with a wonderfully tweaked remix on Shadows. The pace get ramped up a notch from this guy as the original track gets a makeover for the more progressive floors. Super tight drums and a fantastic bassline that just melts into the sound provide a solid groove for the prog heads. Darker elements creep into the sound and an air of mystique is created with a brilliant display of FX alongside that awesome voice that adds so much depth. A definite contender that is not to be missed.

Under Flowers sets out with a pure deep tech house drive that draws you in with its sophisticated groove made up of rhythmic drums and slowly forming bass. An instantly recognisable robotic voice dripping with FX adds a little spice to the sound but the big player here is the drum arrangement, the infectious rhythm will have you moving your feet in no time. Simplistic synth notes provide a big focus in the track and stand out well in the groove. A must have track for your collection no doubt.

Sol Selectas presents “The Other Side” an original song by the band Morphine, transformed into a dance floor friendly trip, by our dear friend Unders. 

Morphine was an Alternative Rock group from Boston which formed in 1989. Morphine’s unique sound combined blues and jazz elements, with more traditional rock arrangements, the lead singer Sandman had a distinctively deep, and laid-back tone. After 5 successful albums in the early 90s, they disbanded after Sandman tragically died on stage of a heart attack. The founding members reformed into the band Vapors of Morphine, maintaining much of the original style and sound.

Unders, a producer form Holland, who had a break through song called “Syria” on Sol Selectas three years ago, is a huge fan of Morphine, and created this dance floor remix for his DJ sets. The reaction was incredible. With the intention of keeping the original Morphine legacy alive, along with the spirit of Sandman, the original members of the band have agreed to officially release this incredible remix. 

Already rated by Mixmag as one of the hottest tracks of the Summer in 2017, even though it had never even been released, this special remix of an American classic, will surely take its listeners on a journey to “The Other Side”,  where “life is better”. 

The artwork by Helia Jamali take us on a melting psychedelic journey, reaching further into the depths of our the minds, to an unknown but familiar place “with the preachers wife”.

Kleintierschaukel’s first release on Akumandra presents an unstable proximity to the archaic, with equatorial acoustics that modulate between organic and synthetic states. Drum'N'Feels is about the re-enchantment of culturally heavy sampling - an acknowledgment to an indigenous sound that warps the perception of home and away. 

The first track, Long Time Ago, utilizes sporadic square waves as the engine and embellishes with a series of sensory sound cyclones. 

Crazy Dayz is an auditory story telling of an event horizon that is never fully approached. Arbitrary vocals and low swells allude to the dynamic haze of nighttime euphoria. 

The syncopated guitar strum provides an omnipresent reality to Kidz of Tibet - a deconstruction of a desolate, desert melody to form a vacant audio-synthesis. 

Buffi and the Dolphins, the final track of the EP, is a full-bodied submersion into subterranean liquid percussion. The splurge on cavernous sampling builds the frequency layers needed for this multi-textural sound.

Ijsbrand & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real "goldsmiths" behind each and every production (such can be seen in this short clip which presents their title 'The Ginning'). 
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

The first title of the EP, 'The Ginning' is constructed around guitarist, Max Honckelinx. The track’s instrumental harmony is skilfully constructed by the duo as they borderline minimal and deep house.

The second original title of the EP, 'The Finishing' is merely a dialogue between a rhythmic stratospheric universe and the sax of Nathan Daems, well preserved from the first studio recording. The end result leaves us with 8 minutes of lyricism soaked in sophistication and technicality.

In regards to the remixes, Felkon, who has been presented several times before on the Délicieuse, takes on 'The Ginning' by including vocals which create a more dance-like ambiance. 
Britta Arnold, a legendary pioneer from Bar 25 and Katerholzig, worked on 'The Ginning' as well with Sascha Cawa. They delivered a version more obscure yet wickedly effective.

As for the remixes of 'The Finishing', Powel continues to captivate us while executing his deep and melancholic twists. He entirely redesigns the piece’s structure by retiring the "voice" of the sax. 
And then there’s our man, Viken Arman, who spins his version of 'The Finishing' by refiguring the rhythm pattern and adding a new dimension to the bass.
