Specify is a UK based electronic music composer and performer hailing from Peterborough Cambridgeshire. His musical journey started from a young age when he was introduced to playing musical instruments at the age of 7. From experimenting with different musical instruments he was always keen to learn about different music genres. In his late teens he was introduced to dance music events, which made him interested in how electronic music was composed and performed. 

Electronic music opened his eyes to DJ-ing and then shortly after composing using DAW’s. In 2009 Specify decided to join Peterborough Regional College to further his knowledge of the music industry by studying Music Technology. Whilst completing this course he gained confidence from performing around the UK which including him playing at the Peterborough Festival, which had a record crowd of 20,000. From these experiences Specify decided to broaden his horizons by creating a record label with good friend “IN:FO”, called Illusive Insight Recordings. The label was predominately focused on Drum and Bass and was an instant success with the first release being played on Radio One. This gave Specify and IN;FO great encouragement within music business. The success of the label kept growing as the label produced three number one releases within established music download charts. With success of Illusive Insight Recordings growing Specify and the other co-founder IN:FO decided to create another two record labels “FingerPrint” and “Clinical” records with the addition of friend and musician Matter. 

Specify is currently composing Drum & Bass music and performing live around the midlands. Whilst focusing on his own music career he is working alongside IN:FO and Nu Lab with composition collaborations and running the record labels “Clinical and FingerPrint”.  In 2018 you can expect to see Specify's status growing as a musician as his music will be released through his own label and other respected labels. Watch out for the name Specify in the near future, as you can be sure you will see his name associated with mixes, events and releases.
