Last seen remixing Louisahhh's 'Hunter/Wolf' on He.She.They, LA-based producer Bobby Nourmand looks to kick start 2023 with a powerful Spectrum debut. Distortion.

In a world of chaos and noise, it is important to stay focussed. Concentrate on your goal. Bobby looks to convey this message in the emotionally charged new single. With an Arp melody that grows, strengthens and energizes throughout, it's the eventual release that, in his own words, 'represents the full expression of owning your power. Bliss.'

Tapping in beautifully to the original's new wave leaning is Dust & Blood boss, Damon Jee. The French producer gives the original an 80's cinematic facelift, with a spine-tingling synth hook and powerful breakdown that bathes in neon and has us reaching for the lasers.

Having already caused seismic dancefloor rumblings alongside Q.U.A.K.E. on their previous Spectrum outing, Serbian duo Innēr Sense return to the label with another striking release, Hope / Outrage.
 
This double-header sees the pair continue to explore the emotional depth and musical intensity that has become their signature, delivering two contrasting yet complementary tracks that embody the ethos of their name: a balance of internal reflection and visceral impact.
 
'Hope' opens with a gnarly bass synth that purrs, slowly building anticipation. Layer by layer, regal synths and pounding drums emerge, culminating in a spine-tingling crescendo. The track's emotional resonance is palpable - a euphoric journey from tension to release.
 
On the flip side, 'Outrage' takes a darker turn. With a vicious synth line that almost breathes, the track radiates a sinister energy, never peaking yet maintaining an intense, shadowy presence. A masterclass in restraint, Outrage feels like a coiled predator lurking in the darkness, its brooding character contrasting starkly with the hopeful exuberance of its counterpart.
 
Hope / Outrage is a story of duality - a reflection of light and dark, optimism and rebellion, all encapsulated within Innēr Sense's unmistakable sound.

Following the success of DISTORTION, Los Angeles-based artist Bobby Nourmand returns to Spectrum with his brand new two-track BURN EP. A journey through the darker, more cinematic side of electronic music, the EP seamlessly blends techno, post-punk, new wave, and dark disco influences.
 
The title track, BURN, sets the tone with deep, driving rhythms and atmospheric layers, offering a visceral and immersive experience. RISE follows with pulsating beats and soaring melodies, embodying a sense of renewal and resilience.

'The message of BURN is about letting go of self-doubt, obsession, and perfectionism. This music was created during a time of global uncertainty when the world felt disheveled, and we were all unsure of our futures-both as individuals and as a collective. It's easy to get stuck in the details, but doing so always gives us a false perspective. Staring too closely at something traps us in the weeds, while we have the ability to RISE and see things from a higher frequency.
