Heavy metal band emerged in 1985, SPECTRUS crossed the 80’s and 90’s of the twentieth century participating in major events and festivals in Brazil, having your name included among the great Brazilian metal names of the 80, to terminate your career in 2001.

The band has always had a constant presence in the media and press focused on the metal, and despite never having left a full album as a record, released in 1991 The Grand Sea DT which was eventually sold to the whole world and has become a classic, and A Hard View of the Future EP, recorded in 1997, which is the latest release of the band before the closure.

This whole story began to change when the Brazilian band PRELLUDE recorded the TRIBUTO AO SPECTRUS album, with the participation of bassist Ricardo Ravache (Harppia and Centúrias), by European label Metal Soldiers Records.

This fact led to the growth of interest in the band, and drew the attention of singer Danilo Paulus, the only member of the first phase of SPECTRUS who continued working in the music business.

With the intention of promoting the return of SPECTRUS, and since the other members had withdrawn from the music scene definitively, Danilo Paulus invited guitarist Gisele Marie and bassist Eduardo Gomes, his longtime friends who had already participated in other bands with him.

Counting initially with a temporary drummer, SPECTRUS finally reborn on April 19, 2012, when the first rehearsal of the band happened.

This first rehearsal, held in a large studio with several rehearsal rooms, generated much comment among the people present that night cause SPECTRUS, a heavy metal band, now have a Muslim woman guitarist, perhaps the only Muslim woman in the world that is guitarist in a heavy metal band. In addition, guitarist Gisele Marie is a "munaqaba" or "niqabi," a woman who wears the niqab (face veil), which attracted the attention of all.

With this initial team, Spectrus recorded a version of the song Stay Clean of MOTÖRHEAD, for the BOMBING BRAZIL album, a tribute to Motörhead released by the label Mafer Records.

Drummer Yago Magalhães completed the official formation of the band after recording Stay Clean just in time to start the recordings for the SPECTRUS’s new album, the first official release of the band after the revival of the band in 2012.

SPECTRUS is a heavy metal band that emerged in the 80s but perhaps because of being reborn with a new and unprecedented team, not merely have an eighties sound.

In fact the band's style is totally new, bordering speed metal and totally original elements and mixtures that transcend the fact that the band now have a Muslim woman guitarist.
