The Gekiga Podcast is proud to present one of techno’s most singular artists today: the co-owner of the EVOD label and one half of the Syntaxism duo, DIVIDE.

With releases under top-tier labels such as Semantica, Mulero’s Warm Up Recordings, Fautzi’s FautSection, NewRhythmic Records, and Norbak & Temudo’s Hayes Collective — as well as his own EVOD label — Davide, aka Divide, has rightfully earned the admiration of all the legendary giants in the game today.

His frequent collaborations with Oisel have presented an uncompromisingly raw, lo-fi vision of techno that reveals a textural lineage to his underground punk rock roots and ’90s techno affinity. By bridging the “divide” between the old and the new, and infusing a DIY mindset that rejects trends and high-production polish, he has crafted a sonic signature that simultaneously exists within and outside of today’s techno scene.

I’m so grateful for Divide’s contribution to the GKG Podcast. He has been one of my personal favorite producers for a long time. He has me given a mix that I truly feel is one of the best I’ve heard all year. This mix is a journey through the EVOD catalog (including tons of unreleased gems!) and the mind of an artist who stands firm in his commitment to his unique soul’s expression and is impossible to sway or influence by the false shine of popularity.

Founding member of the SRIE Records label where he contributes his musical pieces and mastering knowledge since 2013 in Buenos Aires, Joel Pulso challenges the stablished structures in the musical framework since his style became more definitive, experimental, analogous and hypnotic, developing a unique imprint, based on minimalism and the collage method through home-made recordings.

His project and musical focus exposes the objective of immersing the listener on his semantic field, going from psychical and cerebral music, to the most sci-fi & loopy danceable style through his productions and sessions.

Pulso is part of the great Argentine scene providing musical legacies in renowned labels such as Subsist, Semantica, Float, Antiterra, Mindtrip, KEY Vinyl and in its own signature SRIE, where in each release along with Translate, deliver quality music and concept, giving rise to the best artists oscillating within their sound´s framework.

Since the end of 2022 a new label was born which is dedicated to the manufacture of cassettes and CDs called "Histéresis" where, together with his partner Uma Soundsystem, Pulso performs the position of mastering (Digital and Cassette) and graphic material for each edition, which are produced at home and manually and delivered to the globe; these editions can be found in his official bandcamp (/Pulsojoel) and in the official Histéresis account too.

In parallel to his music and minimalist style of work, Joel Pulso develops cover arts under the name of Fractales DIY, formerly publisher of fanzines and handmade books, currently factory that spits out the crudest and surreal analog collages which are part of the catalog that defines his vision as an artist.
