Thanks for checking out the first single from my forthcoming album, Underground Sky. Transcendental Meditation is inspired by the ancient practice of silent meditation and is possibly the most left-field song on the album. It blends hypnotic, mantra-like vibes with deep, downtempo beats, inviting you on an immersive sonic journey. Lyrically, the song explores themes of inner peace, truth, freedom, and higher states of consciousness.

The track unfolds in two distinct sections. The first half features harmonised storytelling, while the second transitions into a melodic mantra, with falsetto vocals repeating the phrase, “Let It Run.”

People often ask me what genre my music falls under, and honestly, it shifts from track to track. Transcendental Meditation has hip-hop-influenced beats, but the mellotron and vocal arrangement take it somewhere else entirely. At times, it feels soulful or gospel-like; at others, it plays like a musical mantra. Vocally, I just let go, layering harmonies and singing in the way that felt most natural.

Listeners are often surprised when they hear my voice on record - it’s an intimate side of me that can only truly be expressed through music. Listening back, I can hear some love for The Beatles and Prince’s more experimental side, but my focus has always been on crafting something personal, unique, and authentic.

I wrote and recorded this track immediately after meditating, with no plan in mind, just instinct and abstraction. In a way, it felt like a gift, as if the song wrote itself. My remarkable meditation teacher, Dr. Pat Stone, would often say, “Take things how they come.” These words close the track, and Transcendental Meditation is dedicated to her memory, as well as to filmmaker David Lynch, who practiced this meditation daily from 1973 onward. Both had a profound impact on me, and while they won’t hear the song, I hope you and others find something musical, meaningful, and memorable within it.

Transcendental Meditation

“Read My Mind” is one of those songs where I tried to capture a feeling that was almost impossible to put into words. I don’t usually like to say exactly what a song is about, because doing that can sometimes limit how others connect with it. I’d rather leave space for people to find their own meaning.

That said, I’m always fascinated by how others interpret my songs. Their perspective often holds as much weight as mine. My dad once shared his take on a track of mine, and it revealed things I hadn’t even considered. He heard more depth in it than I was consciously aware of—and looking back, I think he was right. He picked up on something that went beyond what I thought I was saying.

On the other hand, someone once asked me if a song meant what they thought it did. When I told them my interpretation, they looked disappointed—it wasn’t what they had imagined. That made me realise how personal meaning is, and how the version that 'you' hear might be the truest version of all. Sometimes explaining a song can take something away from it.

What I can say about “Read My Mind” is that it’s definitely a pop song. It’s more uptempo than the previous single, with a more conventional structure—but I still wouldn’t call it straightforward pop. Honestly, I’m probably not the best person to describe my own songs. All I can say is that every track on this album reflects something honest and important to me at this point in my life.

Dead To It is one of the most emotionally bare and exposed tracks I’ve made. It sits somewhere between alt-pop and acoustic psych-folk. It started small and built itself up into something layered and emotional, full of harmonies, strings, and jangling guitars. It’s about facing the past and reflects that quiet moment when resilience runs out and something inside just... switches off.

Every part of this — song, mix, video — was done independently in my home studio. No label, no filters, no one else’s fingerprints.

Dead To It

“Paradigm” is the fourth single from my upcoming album Underground Sky and was written, produced, performed, mixed in my home studio. It’s a psychedelic synth-pop trip — uptempo, melodic, and experimental — and another genre switch from the singles released so far.

It’s a song about perspective shifts, breaking old patterns, letting go of fear, and embracing new ways of understanding. Somewhere between introspection and ignition.

What If? is one of the most introspective and reflective tracks I’ve made. It sits somewhere between alt-pop and classic singer songwriting, opening with stark piano chords and vocals before unfolding into layered acoustic guitars, intimate strings, pedal steel, jangling riffs, and cascading harmonies. It’s about questioning choices, imagining alternate paths, and confronting those quiet “what if” moments that linger in your mind.

Every part of this recording was done independently in my home studio. No label, no filters, no one else’s fingerprints.
