As well as sharing with you the live recordings from our SPEED events, we have also created the SPEED Mix Series. This artist Invitation series will run irregularly throughout the year, with sporadic mixtapes from artists who we love and feel live and breathe the SPEED ethos and ideals. 

First up in this series, we have Bruno Wolfe. 

Bruno Wolfe is a Paraguayan artist, and is the founder of Cyberpunk Party, De_Konstrukt and the co-founder of U-Topic Productions. Active within his local scene since 2016, Bruno creates intense, emotional and aggressive dance music that can be heard and felt both within his own productions and his dynamic and transcendent DJ sets. 

With influences that break into alternative and urban culture like Punk, and Hip Hop, Bruno Wolfe’s sound and style can be described as eclectic, exciting, and highly enjoyable, mixing Techno, Trance, Rave, ghetto, EBM with all the musical oddities you can imagine.

Spiderdog is a DJ and artist based somewhere between Eora and Naarm. Known for
bringing increasingly relentless sounds to parties like Hex Yellow, Control, INSTASIS, 4D Festival and various renegade raves. As well as his notoriety on the dance floors, Spiderdog is also the head of MEGANESIA, a radio progromme and upcoming label, with a focus of supporting local and queer afrtists in both performance and curation.

@hex-tape  is an artist based on Arrernte country, central "Australia". They mostly DJ at raves where no one begrudges their shitty beat-matching and their attempt to make gabber\Aussie drill blends a "thing" - In our opinion, it's coming along nicely though.

Another one! SPEED's back on consecutive weekends to bring you another mix from our artist invite series, gracing us this beautiful Sunday is Naarm based DJ, Crake. 

Crake says that they produce mixes for those of us who live our lives at a higher anxiety frequency, one that can only be quelled by immersing ourselves with the intentional and overwhelming sensory experiences. Thats all of us and we’re here for it. 

The long form explorations of sonic dissonance release very intense emotions, emotions that have until this experience been kept caged within the mind and help to push them from the mind into the body, resulting in a cathartic display of dance and *potentially* transcendent experience. 

While Crake’s signature DJ style stays true to the cut throat conviction and execution of harsher electronic music, this mix gives a nod to Speed 速度's playful edge and nature.

The wicked intensity of Toronto's E-Saggila takes on novel limits for her new album for Northern Electronics. Constructed out of her live works, there's a lack of restraint on 'My World My Way' that could only be forged in the moment.

Following on from last year's album for BANK Records NYC, E-Saggila has put together something that addresses the club and the headphones in equal measure. Taking the approach of a documentarian of our virtual landscape, there's a deep motive that underpins the heavy digital signal processing. With plenty of storming mechanical rhythms that embark from gabber's chaotic neighborhood, the samples of voices, conversations, and phone calls, all wind the listener around the desperation that's embedded in the digital world's seamless mediation of our lives. Owing as much to power violence and industrial as to Rotterdam, E-Saggila's affinity for the extremes is as conceptually critical as it is stylistically present. Riding the BPMs high, and binding this all together with ambient music's sensibilities, 'My World My Way' moves in sharp strides between a political statement and a dancefloor assault.
