As an attempt to expropriate the Long Weekend celebrations, we’ve decided to share with you this live set from our SPEED 速度 Launch Party by a true royalty and a known and party starter, the one and only Princess.

To get you all up to speed, Princess is a DJ, Skater, Doll Maker and founder of the interactive community based event series Swooftie Bang Bang. 

We love revisiting this mix, as it races through with incredible energy while drifting through DnB, Footwork, hyper pop before final slide out with a little Dubstep.

The final live recording taken from the SPEED 速度 Launch Party is this giant b2b set by two Speed Demons of the local techno community, SPEED’s own Cloudy Ku @cloudyku and former Londerner now Narm based Techno Icon, T-N @t-n_dj.

These two powers combine their unique and hard-hitting energy and organic natural chemistry for two and a half huge hours, witnessed by the hyper-charged crowd at Sub Club, who were left at the end still wanting more!

Get excited to hoon in and revisit this set and remember….

The 17th release of katharsis is the EP “Digital Séance” by Australian artist Sugar Ross. The album was created in the period of harsh lockdown due to the pandemic situation in Australia, which influenced the artist in various directions both in terms of the methodological and the thematic approach to composing, resulting in a unique style of experimental ambient music. Comprising of six tracks, the release is framed by the conceptual approach of exclusively consisting of heavily manipulated samples recorded directly from digital and analogue radio. 

This conceptual approach of repurposing audio material from radio signals speaks directly into the theme of cyclicality in all life, matter and existence, described in Buddhism as Samsara. Simultaneously, the methodology was inspired by the parapsychological concept of the electronic voice phenomenon, which is the idea that electronic sound recordings of noise and static can be used as a method of identifying supernatural entities. Finally, the artist was living in an area of hard rubbish collection during this harsh lockdown, which gave further inspirations from waste culture and the idea of recycling.

Trips down memory lane are great, especially when they come absolutely jam packed with Bangers and Donk like this Live set of Iconic Naarm DJ, DJ Burnout when she took the stage for our Donk edition of SPEED back in march of this year. 

Its always a party when DJ Burnout is behind the decks and this set proves no exception to that rule. We’ve really been waiting to share this one with you again, and now felt like a better time than ever to re-live this insanely fun and high energy set put together by the Donk Daddy himself Lobsta b for our SPEED Donk edition Party. 

Phoning in from the comfort of the home studio in the UK, Lobsta b put together this mix (+ Video!) for the party and although they couldn’t make it to the Donk down in Melbourne, they still did everything they could to celebrate with us!

Lobsta B is no stranger to the underground donk scene, both at home in the UK and worldwide. No stranger to the underground UK donk scene, Lobsta B is on a planet of his own in the bounce universe. Truly one of a kind, this wildly imaginative DJ and producer who keeps the crowd guessing with every selection and polishes up his sets with his unique style and character. 

Thanks again to Lobsta b for putting this together and joining us on the big screen to close out the night for the Donk edition of SPEED, it was truly a beautiful moment.

Welcome back to a new instalment to the SPEED Mix series. We’ve been quiet for a few weeks but are coming back with a bang with this incredible mix by the increasingly talented Naarm DJ and Producer Sam Alfred. 

Moving up from Lutruwita to Naarm, Sam Alfred has swiftly carved a space for himself in the local scene. He’s one of Naarm’s  newest and most exciting DJs, known for mixing jazz-tipped house with deep cuts & UK garage. With a signature house and techno sound that is reminiscent of the 90s, Sam has made a name for himself all across the scene. Sam has released  music on labels such as Love Above Records, Phenomena Records, Spinning Around and Happy Wax records. 

It’s hard not to fight the urge as your body takes over, moving and dancing uncontrollably when Sam takes the stage and dishes out the finest cuts and rare selections that are sure to get your heart racing.

Liu Lee is an electronic musician and DJ based in Seoul, Korea. Working across various fields within her production, Lee uses the sounds of 90s Techno, Electro-Clash and Breakbeat to boldly project what she needs to say as an artist.

Her first release, the Jasmine EP, made a very strong introduction with its signature unfiltered and provocative flow and style.

Under the theme of "sensuality and knowledge," she has been constantly agonising over her musical direction.

In her DJ career, she has played for radio shows such as AOMIX and BUDWEISER and participated in events for fashion brands like 2000 Archive and Disel.

Naarm based DJ Eva has been making significant strides in the local dance scene, starting the year with an iconic set at Beyond The Valley Festival and features on local projects The Sound Gallery and Area3000 Radio. 
 In just two years since launching her DJ career, Eva has crafted a distinct sound that commands attention. Headlining shows across the state and supporting acclaimed artists such as Sally C, Mella Dee, Partiboi 69 and Nina Las Vegas.
