La demande de Jason Urban Poison pour un mix inédit pour leur podcast, je l'ai vécue comme un appel à la veillée d'armes. Car Jason, pas le genre à parler pour ne rien dire, avait insisté sur sa volonté de montrer qu'en France il y a des DJ pouvant en remontrer au tout-venant de ce qui s'entend sur des podcasts italiens ou hollandais. Tout d'abord j'ai été très honoré de faire partie du casting chargé de prouver par l'exemple. Mais cette demande a fait vibrer le party people qui reste vivace en moi. Lequel party people constate que l'ambiance de nombre de soirées pâtit du syndrome du "producteur qui mixe". Où quand d'éminentes bêtes de studio viennent enchaîner leurs tracks, leurs remixes, leur featurings... OK mais où est le mix ? Où est cet art qui fait surgir la folie à partir de deux tracks joués ensemble ? Les DJ français talentueux qui jouent les tripes à l'air sont nombreux. Se retrouver au milieu de certains d'entre eux grâce à ce programme de podcast est le genre de plaisir savoureux que j'éprouve lorsque le frisson de la solidarité ravive la fierté que je peux avoir vis-à-vis de la scène française. Souvent meurtrie, jamais défaite.

Imperium Bass, deux infâmes gabbers dont les survêtements reluisent, m’ont ordonné de leur enregistrer un mix, avec carte blanche sur le tracklisting. Fort de cette confiance accordée par ces jeunes mâles superbes, j’ai voulu leur livrer ma lecture de cette vibration voyou que ces fins connaisseurs du hardcore hollandais affectionnent tant. Car s’ils sont capables de jeux interdits avec le mainstream, ces deux filous pratiquent surtout le versant teigneux du kick qui booste et du synthé qui décapsule. 
D’où ce mix, oldschool peut-être, mais Mozart aussi est oldschool et personne ne vient lui rebattre les oreilles avec ça, oldschool donc, sorte de suite de madeleines de Proust révisées à la mode de Rotterdam, oldschool quoi ? Rien à foutre du oldschool, c’est pour les archivistes et les historiens, et le hardcore c’est pour qui veut. Puisque le hardcore vaincra, vu qu’il est plus fort que toi. 
Bon, merci beaucoup Paris Hardcore Mafia, voici « Hardcore Is Where Your Brain Died », bande-son pour les allers-retours Paris-Hollande… même si dans le tracklisting (comme dans le hardcore en général), il n’y a pas que du hollandais. Paris rulez !

Imperium Bass, two infamous gabbers with shiny sportsuits, have ordered me to record a mix, with carte blanche about the tracklisting. Thanks to the confidence given by this young magnifiscent males, I wanted to transmit them my interpretation of this roughneck vibe that this two dutch hardcore fans love so much. Because, once said they sometimes play forbidden games with mainstream hardcore, these two gangsters are for sure into the nasty side of the boosting kick and the mind-blowing synth.
So is this mix, oldschool may be, but Mozart is oldschool too and nobody tells him stories about that, oldschool for sure, kind of sweety memories with a Rotterdam taste, oldschool so what ? Nothing to do with the oldschool, it’s for archivists and historians, and hardcore is for those who want it.  Because hardcore is forever, due to it’s stronger than you.
