The world of dance music is an impetuously-changing landscape, complemented by new names, faces, styles and trends. Spartaque has been a distinguished presence on the circuit for well over a decade now, winning the respect and admiration of thousands of clubbers from every corner of the globe. Hailing from Ukraine, the tenacious DJ, producer and industry figure is wholly dedicated to his craft, championing a driving strain of underground music that evolves with the times. In 2005, aged just 19, the world of dance music began to open up for Vitalii when he was contacted by Virus Music to release his first official production with them. It was just two short years later when the unknown Spartaque first gained access to the big stage, delivering an emphatic debut performance at Ukraine’s first major festival, Global Gathering, and subsequently securing his residency at the event. Following this, his career steamrolled into quick maturity, with appearances at Love Parade, Kazantip and Mayday, among many other iconic events on both sides of the Atlantic. Now, Spartaque has made the move to Barcelona, Spain, where he resides full-time and works daily in close conjunction with Analog talent agency. In addition to a busy release and touring schedule, the accomplished talent founded IAMT Music Group with fellow Greenjack.

Cosmic Boys are a techno duo whose high velocity music is out of this world. Fast becoming genre leaders, the guys have charted No.1 on Beatport and collaborated with titans such as UMEK in addition to featuring onRichie Hawtin’s iconic label Minus.

Their hybrid DJ style is a nonstop extravaganza of high energy tracks expertly blended with charismatic flair and attention to detail that makes sure there is never a dull moment on the dance floor. As described in Night Mag :  "We use Mac and work with “Logic Pro X” plus an “Apollo Twin” interface from Universal Audio. We also use a MPK49 master keyboard from AKAI and the monitors are Yamaha HS7. We work a lot with Software Synths like Sylenth from Lennar Digital and VST Diva, but there are also many others. Rather than having lots of different bits of equipment, we try to know every synthesizer perfectly, so we can make the most of these capacities and transcribe the exact sound we want to create."  Cosmic Boys tracks have also been played in the sets of DJ icons such as CarlCox, Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Joseph Capriati, Dubfire and Monika Kruse. Not content with just mixing tracks, they take things to the next level by re-editing music on the fly during a DJ set. Using loops, samples, and drum machines to add an impromptu twist that combines a layer of musicianship to make each live performance totally unique. 

Their record labels Legend and Scander are also apart of their music legacy. Not only have the imprints been outlets for the Cosmic Boys own tracks, but they have also been platforms that give exposure to fresh talent, featuring established influencers such as Reinier Zonneveld, Traumer, Dusty Kid, Alex Stein, TheYellowHeads, Matt Sassari, Space 92, Felix Kröcher among others.

Already achieving the No.1 spot in the sales charts of many download stores, the guys are set on an interstellar trajectory as they voyage into the techno cosmos to gain notoriety around the galaxy.

After beginning life as an experimental side-project for members Paul Maddox and Rich Wakley, Spektre find themselves over a decade later as established and respected features of the Techno landscape.  As a production outfit, they have recently released on such imprints as Elevate, Phobiq and Unrilis, as well as their own Respekt Recordings (now approaching it’s 150th release) to the acclaim of their peers, with the likes of Adam Beyer, Carl Cox and Alan Fitzpatrick among their plaudits. As their near-permanent presence in the Techno download charts confirms, the quality and consistency of Spektre’s studio output is a given.  As performers, Spektre’s unique sound has taken them to some of the biggest and most highly regarded venues worldwide, with frequent bookings by the likes of Space Ibiza, Exit Festival, Pacha Buenos Aires and Burning Man. ‘Bass driven Deep Progressive Driving Emotive House & Techno with Funk and Groove’

Born in New Zealand Greig returned from the maternity hospital on the first day of his life and was greeted with the sound of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos that had been pre-arranged by his parents to be playing when he first entered the family home and to be his first exposure to music. It is perhaps from this beginning that a love of music was embedded in his psyche and certainly it was nurtured by his parent’s love of music and all things creative, as both were full time artists. 

Alex graduated to playing records in his room from age five and this led to playing guitar as a child and a private musical journey of purchasing and listening to music extending from the rock legends of the 70’s such as Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and Santana and the birth of electronic music from Kraftwerk and Mike Oldfield. 

Considering its over Forty years he’s been devoted to discovering and playing music Alex has dedicated spending as much time to the ‘pursuit of the pleasure of music’ often as those who derive income from it. 

His early love of techno covers the complete evolution of the genre including the early beginnings of trance from the German techno producers such as Sven Vath. Along the way Alex’s influences have been wide and all encompassing from early metal, particularly Motorhead and southern rock – ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn, through the acid house revolution and UK pioneers such as Slam, Underworld and Primal Scream in the mid eighties. The development of Trip Hop and particularly James Lavelle’s early Mo Wax label and then the release of Sasha & Digweed’s CD mix album Renaissance The Mix Collection changed his life forever. 

Always drawn to a love of bass that has taken him from the jazz of Miles Davis and the music of Mark King, Marcus Miller, and Stanley Clark, or straight out funk of The Infectious Grooves and onto deep electronic bass lines. 

He found himself entranced by Deep house and early tech house from the likes of Craig Richards, Terry Francis and Terry Lee Brown Junior and labels such as Glasgow Underground and Mushroom Jazz.

In the nineties Greig introduced electronic music into Rip it Up, New Zealand’s original music magazine by writing CD and gig reviews.  Bucking the established house scene at the time in Auckland New Zealand, which he thought had become too commercial and predictable. He used what became a regular column as a voice to stir up the scene at the time and promote more underground sounding DJ’ s and music at the time such as NZ’s techno pioneer Greg Churchill and overseas visitors playing a more progressive sound. 

From a conscious decision as an entrepreneur whilst building companies Greig has never dedicated a lot of time to DJing preferring to keep digging for the sounds to be shared with friends many being DJ’s, which often influenced by the sounds he shares. 

The advent of Digital music and indeed this Soundcloud page provide yet another platform from which to share the sounds that are moving him along with a vehicle to showcase local and new DJ’s from New Zealand such as Tom McGuinness and La Sonique which are already represented on his profile.

Sharing a love of well crafted sets and quality production If his current music preference could be put into a box it would be along the line of ‘Bass driven Deep Progressive Driving Emotive Techno with Funk and Groove’.
