With a two year hiatus since 2020's Love in the Age of Machines album, Pleasurekraft's highly-anticipated return is finally here with a diverse two track EP. The title track sees the return of Mammal Hands' saxophonist Jordan Smart to the fold on yet another Pleasurekraft record; lush, narrative, and euphoric, "Umbilicis Universalis"  is symbolic of Pleasurekraft's continued expansion beyond mere dancefloor-driven music. And on the EP's opening track "Ritual", Pleasurekraft deliver another sub-genre defining slice of of cosmic techno sure to appease the peak-time masses. The EP's sonic range is a preview of upcoming material that will be further expanded upon leading up to Pleasurekraft's next album scheduled for 2023.

Christian Smith returns for his first solo release on Drumcode since 2016, re-contextualising a classic vocal work. 

The Sweden-born journeyman has been friends with Adam Beyer since dot one. In the rare instances he has released outside his own label Tronic, Drumcode has received the fruits of his studio labour. Besides the recent contribution to this year’s A-Sides Vol.9 compilation, we haven’t seen a stand-alone Drumcode release from Smith in four years, when his excellent ‘Force Majeure’ stood as one of the year’s label highlights.

‘Your Lovin’’ is his fifth release on DC, taking inspiration from a ‘90s D&B classic. Driven by a Minimoog bassline and hypnotic arpeggios, Smith, a renowned perfectionist, made six versions before settling on the final cuts. The original is stripped back and searing, perfect for late night moments as restrained vocal grabs add colour to the techno palette. The ‘Ombi Dub’ is a straight-up propulsive tool that hits you straight between the eyes.

After beginning life as an experimental side-project for members Paul Maddox and Rich Wakley, Spektre find themselves over a decade later as established and respected features of the Techno landscape.  As a production outfit, they have recently released on such imprints as Elevate, Phobiq and Unrilis, as well as their own Respekt Recordings (now approaching it’s 150th release) to the acclaim of their peers, with the likes of Adam Beyer, Carl Cox and Alan Fitzpatrick among their plaudits. Their live exploits are also documented alongside guest slots from esteemed cohorts in a fortnightly Mutual Respekt Podcast, which is syndicated across the globe.
