'Spektre's record label Respekt, drops a driving two-track techno release by Sam Kitt.

Sam Kitt is a Welsh artist who had a big year in 2022 with releases on labels such as Christian Smith's Tronic and his debut on Respekt. Prior to that, he has also contributed to imprints such as T78's Autektone.

His first outing on Respekt was a track on Respekt Rebels vol.4, and this time he's back with a solo EP that showcases his hard-hitting style in all its glory.

"Phantom Limb" opens the release with its thumping kick drum, rattling hi-hats and eerie atmospherics that lay the foundation for the twisted euphoria of the spine-tingling lead synth. "Tensile" is built from a similar sound palette and is an intense track with building suspense and unstoppable momentum that's ready to engulf the dance floor.'

‘Haasten’ (translates into hurrying) has been destroying crowds during Egbert’s live sets around the globe for the past few months. A dark commanding bass line that skips over the beat is accompanied by a retro sounding orchestral jab to create what is looking to become one of this year’s biggest techno tracks!

The B-side ‘Yourself’ has also proven to be a crowd pleaser and is paving the way for the future of percussion based techno. The punishing drums, deep basses, narrow mids and rattling hats kick ass throughout the track before taking a break for 30 seconds to introduce some melody and continue on mercilessly afterwards.

All that you have come to expect from a collaboration of this caliber is here: Industrial overtones? Check. Familiar, dismal stabs? Check. But it's the dislocated, two-note riff sounding like a robot dying that takes the lead in this track by Spektre and Miniminds.On the flip, Filterheadz splash a touch of tribal sensibilities and add their custom metallic effects from a post-apocalyptic world. As the track unfolds, percussive leads lash out at us from all angles and a frantic, punchy drumset kicks our ass at the same time.

GEM001 will be Egbert’s “Dezelfde weg EP”. Secret Cinema has been dropping it regularly and the crowd response has been amazing! Side A is a hypnotic melody driven techno slammer titled “Dezelfde weg”. On the flipside is a deeper darker track called ‘Vette Sounds’ with creepy yet commanding synths over a pounding bassline driven groove. This track has also received the Secret Cinema remix treatment to brilliant effect!

No introduction needed here. The Advent and Industrialyzer have been holding down the Techno fort for years, yet they continue to reinvent themselves. This first full EP for 1605 is no exception. The title track is a dark but subliminal affair with dissonant sounds of a dark future riding on chugging beats. "Abstrakt" takes things up a notch, with frantic percussion and the familiar industrial vibe that the duo has accustomed us to. Serious techno here folks, from a legendary team that keeps setting higher standards for the sound.
