His previous releases on the label, ‘Pure’ and the ‘Chapters EP’ saw significant support from Sirius XM Chill, and producers including Ben Böhmer, Dosem and Cassian. ‘One Good Reason’ sees Rezident on top form, layering Biishop’s vocals with bouncing synths; and resulting in a brilliantly textured composition.

Taking listeners on a melodic voyage, the compilation begins with Polar Inc.’s blissful cut, ‘Firmoral’. Josh Lawrence’s ‘Atraxia’ enters a deeper dimension with a heavy bassline, juxtaposed with spacey synths. One of my very close friends from Duke, Liam, came to San Francisco to visit his brother (my roommate) Ian. Liam is an extremely talented producer, and he approached me with a beautiful melody idea. After only two days of studio sessions, we wrote the entire track together based on his original idea. There is nothing I love more than collaborating with close friends—when your chemistry (as both friends and musicians) works, the music seems to write itself.

Liam is no stranger to the music industry; he worked as Dave Grutman’s personal assistant (as “Intern Luke”) in Miami for over a year. Expect to see a lot more material from him as a solo artist and a collaborator.

I debuted this record at Audio in San Francisco, hence the name of the track. I clearly remember the tremendous reaction on the dancefloor.
