We fancy an occasional pinch of symbolism, so welcoming one of Bulgaria’s leading female artists this month is no coincidence at all.

Laylla Dane emerged from the blooming rave culture in the early 2000s, devoting herself to the dance floor and proving that dedication paves the path to recognition, no matter where you come from. Two decades later, fans and peers all across Europe respect her flawless mixing, well-crafted sets, and “quality over quantity” commitment.

As Laylla joins our podcast series, she not only aligns with our ethos but also unveils her most adventurous self. The mix begins as a bold observation of the melancholically peculiar corners of her collection. However, instead of digging further into the subconscious, she spares the troubled minds by throwing the listener to the floor and lifting the spirits naturally till the end as she finishes off with a dance.

Franciss99 is the new name Alexander Heming gave himself to explore his artistic adventures in record collecting, mixing and radio hosting. People in Paris London or Brussels might remember his late alter-ego "Kid Strike". Coming from a "rude boy" UK and US-(Ghetto)house" background, he was part of the "Freaks and Geeks" collective in the mid 2000's playing everything from UK garage to Baltimore club Beats over Ghetto Tech and dubstep. Don't forget his adventurous residency for the legendary Beyond parties in Fuse where he delved into his (deep)house and disco roots. Now all these foundations can be heard clearly in his current music selection and performance, but things got more deep, the kid has grown up. Big lad @joedelon had some really lovely things to say about my set so I’ll leave you with that - “Distinctive tunes full of feeling and playfulness, mixed together craftily and building steadily into a party mood  – a perfect warm-up in other words. I also really appreciate the variety: flourishes of broken beat, chicago house, and obvs some massive UK garage there in amongst the rolling Spaced-style house”
