Dear listeners, friends and fellow artists, 

it is with both regret and gratitude that I have to announce the permanent conclusion of Spheriá. I have stopped before, but resumed after some time. Now, I have taken respective preparations to follow another path and this time, there is no way back. 

When I started this project, I didn't think I would reach as many people as I did eventually. I had another music project with a friend back in 2013 and used Spheriá as an alias to explore other styles because I developed an interest in ambient soundscapes. It soon became a solo project that I wanted to pursue further. Little did I know that it would accompany me on my journey to growing up, moving out from home, during difficult times and other moments of life. 

I never invested a lot of money into my project, so I have always used the same basic setup: some keyboards I bought, an old pirated version of FL Studio (+plugins) and a handheld recorder. I considered Spheriá as a hobby and thought that this kind of equipment would be suitable. I did the field/sample and instrument recording myself, for example playing piano at my mother's house, recording when taking a walk, playing instruments, vocals from other artists etc. 

Some samples I had, however, were initially taken from other sources and didn't belong to me rightfully. This was part of the sound design process and experimenting, but started to constitute an ethical issue for me that made me rethink my way. This, however, is not the main reason for my decision.

The end of my project is also based on a decision I have made for dedicating my remaining life towards another path that will need my whole attention. Music will still be a part of this path, just in a different way than before. 

I am grateful for your support, for every heartfelt message or comment, for every collaboration and for exploring the world of ambient sounds. Now, however, is the time to move on. 

I wish that you may continue to find solace, peace or relaxation when listening. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life!

Soundscapes

Lemurian Shores (with Lucentia)

Spheriá was a German ambient music and sound design project, founded in late December 2013. It started off as an alias for exploring different styles of music production. Part of the soundscapes were combined with recorded instruments, voices and sounds from different environments.

During 2014 and the upcoming years, Spheriá published several recordings and also performed at small live sessions with other musicians. A first hiatus took place in 2015. The project resumed in late 2016 and continued at first. After another break had occured in 2024, the project permanently concluded in late March 2025.

Other projects that Spheriá was active with were "Háiku" and "Natura Silentia", with the latter focusing more on fictional places in nature, combined with writing from imagination.
