This is Bruce and Bambounou’s first time working together, expect detailed hypnotic rhythms with a postmodern edge.

Bambe is a passion project of Bambounou and follows the release of the well received ‘Cascade’ EP. The imprint is a space created for talent from diverse backgrounds coming together to use art and technology to create expansive musical experiences.

“Dancefloor Memories” is a new compilation, a love letter to the dancefloor, released on the Swiss label Proxima. Its focus is on the epiphanies lived on a dancefloor and translated through 10 tracks + 1 bonus track.

This compilation is curated by Proxima co-founders Audrey Danza and Nicolas Oggier, also representing Motel Campo.

The dancefloor, place of expression, of life, but also real catalyst of memories. We measure all that we built there in the sweat, the brushing of bodies, and the music which transported us: a memory. These key moments, absolutely separate, touching ecstasy or epiphany, are the stories told through “Dancefloor Memories”. Drawing their energy from these moments of unprecedented intensity, those tracks have been produced by artists who have delivered their own interpretation of a strong moment on the dancefloor.

10 tracks including a psychedelic, bewitching and undeniably gripping vision (Trent, Eva Geist), a punchy and percussive, kaleidoscopic and colorful celebration of the dancefloor (Powder, Castro), a futuristic and electro-cataclysmic perception (Neu Verboten, Nicola Kazimir), as well as a melancholic journey (BSS, Belia Winnewisser, NVST) and an introspective vision (Epsilove).

In this compilation, we find regulars Cocktail d'Amore DJs, Trent and Powder but also Castro from the Berlin record-store Sound Metaphors, cutting-edge artists from the Swiss underground scene: Neu Verboten, Belia Winnewisser, Nicola Kazimir or NVST, the Paris-based producer Epsilove, Dutch producer and Dekmantel regular BSS (Beesmunt Soundsystem), and the Italian composer, synthesist and sound designer Eva Geist. 

The bonus track consists of a remix of Neu Verboten's track by Proxima's co-founder and Motel Campo resident dj Audrey Danza.

The cold was fresh, biting even - bodies huddled together for warmth in the queue that snaked round the block. It was a stark contrast when they finally reached the entrance and descended down the brick steps. Heat smacked them square in the face and a blend of must and sweat filled their nostrils. The beat led them straight to the dance floor, the pulsing heart of the club, where limbs twisted, hips gyrated and all inhibitions were left at the door...

Paurro, the moniker of Mexico City-based DJ Paulina Rodriguez, heats up the club with her debut EP on Cómeme. Her reputation as a DJ proceeds her, she's been making bodies move across the country and in places and spaces like LA, New York and Miami, whilst translating that very same energy to her own musical output. Following a handful of releases and a remix for Pareja and Lupe, she treats us to Galavision, a batch of club-ready cuts weaving together breakbeat, acid and gritty house, that are fine-tuned to set the dance floor alight.

Lower-case and higher-vibes, loket is the saxophonic alias of Tahl Klainman, a versatile presence in Berlin’s alternative and underground scene, whose diverse productions have traversed ambient, trance, techno and jazz on labels such as Mama Told Ya, Hot Concept and Tax Free Records. More recently loket also guested on Massimiliano Pagliara’s LP ‘See You In Paradise’, which received the 2023 German Record Critics’ Award, as well as establishing Klainman as one of the few saxophonists to have jammed live to a peak-time Panorama Bar dancefloor.

Reigniting the languid futurism of trip-hop and downtempo, ‘All Ages’ ably delivers the most inclusive distillation of loket’s sound thus far, paying respect to the influences such as William Orbit and Moby, as well as fourth-world innovator Jon Hassell’s philosophy of blending traditional instrumentation with contemporary electronic experimentalism. Mixed in collaboration with Angus Finlayson, aka Minor Science, each of ‘All Ages’ four pieces transmit the wonder and free-spirited optimism reflected on photographer Jordan Kirk’s wide-eyed cover art.

Title track ‘All Ages’ prizes open a saxophonic wormhole to beckon an infectiously baggy groove, unexpectedly referencing the optimistic rhythm of acid-house inflected Madchester, only with gnarlier guitars to contrast a seriously insistent bassline. ‘Afternoon at Bärenquell’ boldly teases out sonic pleasure from even more idiosyncratic means, melding baroque strings and twinkling new-age melodies to loket’s emotive brass, culminating in a neo-classical finale that seems to suspend itself mid-air.

‘Sanders Groove’ sees loket’s sax step back on a bed of soft, jazz-inflected percussion and unpredictable electronics, melting as one into a slow-motion riff that’s equal parts indie jam and musique concrete. Finally, ‘Soft as Moonlight’ makes good on its romantic namesake with a swelling arrangement that free floats into deft percussion, dreaming and teeming with positive energy.

Estrenamos las Rhythm Control Barcelona Mix series con el enigmático @orionagassi  desde Oviedo (Asturias), alguien que lleva mucho tiempo metido in the game aunque este proyecto tenga unos pocos años de vida.
En febrero de 2022 empezó el proyecto de su sello Ritmo Astral publicando sus propios trabajos o de colegas como su socio DJ Bert o el canario Jaisiel. 
El sonido de Orion Agassi bebe tanto del electro old school, el Miami Bass y el house de Chicago adornado con vocales latinas reggaetoneras. 
Su estilo tan personal ha hecho tenga buena acogida entre djs de todos el globo de la misma forma que el sello de Glasgow Huntleys + Palmers se interesó por su música cuando un buen día el capo del sello entró en Discos Paradiso y estaban sonando los temas de Orion. Esa casualidad se ha materializado en el primer vinilo de Agassi "Hot Jams Straight Out The 330XX" que saldrá el 17 de febrero de 2023 en el subsello Belters en colaboración con Ritmo Astral con una selección de seis cortes publicados anteriormente en digital.
El petardazo final saltó cuando el pasado mes de septiembre, The Newyorker publicó un artículo sobre Solomun donde explicaba que abrió uno de sus sets en Ibiza con el tema "Dos Blokes" de Agassi avivando el interés por el productor.También hay que decir que la promo de su 12" está teniendo muy buenos feedbacks de grandes nombres.
Así pues, podemos vaticinar sin mucho miedo a equivocarnos que la carrera del artista tiene mucho futuro por delante.
En su mix para Rhythm Control Barcelona donde podemos escuchar acid house,  latin house, o edits de Agassi de clásicos del pop latino así como un par de cortes inéditos hasta la fecha, el remix de Paula Tape y el track "Esto Si Que Está Bueno" de un próximo EP de Orion Agassi & DJ Bert.

“Upstairs” starts with uplifting and crispy 808 grooves, driven up by funky and tight bass lines. The Juno and Arp 2600 synth lines brings up some cool retro futuristic vibes on it, until the harmonies and bass changes and shakes off every dancer on the floor.
