Better Angels

Little challenge I set myself a couple of years ago to write a small jazz ensemble piece. 
Live instruments would bring it to life but without that advantage I managed to find a great drum loop and played the Bass and piano in, real rhythm and lead guitar (telecaster) and appalling sax and trumpet sounds....apologies to sax and trumpet players but was the best I could do with limited resources in that area.
Hopefully the composition itself still comes through.
I like it anyway.

The Cold And Dusk

First Vocal I've shared on Soundcloud, not perfect but honest. Music was completed 2015, lyrics took a while to come and finishing touches july 2016.
Main guitar line is a Resonator in open "G" tuning with overdrive and delay.
Simple song with a dense arrangement.

My acoustic cover of Duran Duran's classic 80s pop song "planet earth".
Always loved this song and it was an interesting experiment to break it down to an acoustic version with electronic embellishment.....and for once I think it suits my voice.
I've explored space themes in my own music several times so the recording and arranging process came pretty quickly for this one.
