Following on from yesterday's quite successful attempt at making a beat out of coat hangers I started with a bottle of vitamin pills today. I created a nice percussive groove and laid a drum machine beat on top. I didn't have much more time so the synth parts aren't great. I was attempting to do something that wasn't just straight up chords but it's a bit meh. I also tried to do a basic spoken word vocal to go over the beat but it clashed with the synths and got all muddy. I obviously need to learn how to record and process vocals! Anyway, I just slapped it on the end and called it a day for this one.

This one started with a single cello chord sample which I made into a nice atmospheric loop that obviously isn't in any key so basically impossible (for me) to add anything else to. So I ended up with whatever the heck this is. 

The voice at the start is me, grumbling to myself when the neighbours were keeping me awake. 

I should start these jamuary tracks earlier in the day.

The Party (Jamuary Day 9)

I didn't find out about #Jamuary until the following day but I did this track on the 2nd so I'm retrospectively including it. 

It's actually a reimagining of an old track off an EP I released years back (as Sean Eskimo) but this is all new parts and I didn't use any samples or project files from the original so I reckon it's fair game. Happy New Distopia (Jamuary Day 2)

Gear: Wavestate, Zoia, Deluge

Running the wavestate through the "loop forest" patch on the zoia, with the deluge providing just enough bass to keep things on track. I might be addicted to the shakuhachi patch on the wavestate, it sounds so nice...
