Currently locked in the studio, Evan Morice (aka Spiltmidi) is working on his production career. Living in the small city of Townsville NQ has allowed him to hone in on his skills as a DJ. When he was 16, his brother had influenced him with different styles of music. One of the artists that stands out was Depeche Mode. This is where he first started to search for similar artists. He heard and connected with the music of Richie Hawtin, Drop Bass Network and Communique Records-pioneer of minimal acid and techno. Their dynamic and challenging aesthetic had an impact. Shortly after Evan became determined to make his own music and started collecting gear and records.

For the past 10 years, Evan has played a wide range of genres to find the right sound and challenge he deserves. As a result his idiosyncratic sound lies somewhere between minimal tech and tech house, a precarious balancing act that manages to infuse stripped down, finked up minimal techno with a distinct sense of purpose.

“Where did you come from?” Malente said, after a smashing supporting act.

Having spent the last few years playing the club scene beside the likes of Malente, Mark Dynamix, Phil K, John Course, Anne Savage and Klaus “Heavyweight” Hill. Evan has decided it is time to take his sound to the next level. Having experienced the festival scene and the great atmosphere it holds compared to a club, it is time for a broader experience.
Playing 4 decks at once has awed the crowed wherever he plays; fusing loops from his personal productions, audio snippets from anywhere he can put his curser and productions from some of the best minimal/techno artists this world has seen.

Part of the level jump has included Evan in starting his own production career. Having experienced Rainbow 2011 has pushed him to create his own unique sound and wanting to take his productions to the 4 deck routine. The ideal is function and entertainment as well as experimentation and emotion. 

Looking into the future, Evan is heading in a direction that will see him move the emotions and feet of party goers alike from festivals all over with his unique style of play.
When on stage, Evan is transformed into is alter ego Spiltmidi. Not only is Spiltmidi a Dj but also a stage performer, entertaining the crowd with weird and wonderful things. Having a background in electronics and weirdestry, Spiltmidi is a performer to be seen and heard.
