Tameil Paynes (known by his stage name DJ Tameil) is an American disc jockey and record producer from Newark, New Jersey. He is credited with pioneering the Jersey club style of dance music in the late 1990s, drawing influence from Baltimore club and Chicago house. He is a member of the Brick Bandits, a collective of pioneering Newark musicians.

Club Paradise, a concept by Los Angeles-based DJ and Producer @88superofficial, is the culmination of a mixture of musical styles which influenced his sound as a DJ. Heavily influenced by the hip-hop, r&b, and dancehall music of his youth, 88 infuses those genres with high energy edits, Baltimore, Jersey and Philly club breaks, Soca, Baile Funk, and other forms of international dance music he discovered while traveling abroad.

Club Paradise airs every 2nd Friday of the month on @dublab from 10pm-12am PT | 1-3am ET

in addition to contributing pan-African literature as part of the USB file drop for the evening, gum.mp3 also dropped sonic knowledge all night, starting with some Detroit nods and his own edits of Future and SahBabii, matching the pace HiTech left off with. gum’s head bob served as a metronome, a rhythmic true north that stayed steady as he shifted gears to unshazamable house tracks and R&B remixes, including a crowd favorite DJ Sliink rework of Faith Evans

gradually he brought the tempo down to a sultry groove, melting into soulful jazz for the fully immersed late night crowd. this mix is a perfect soundtrack for running into old flames and new flings at sweaty parties in the city, for letting chlorine tinged droplets fly off sun-kissed bodies, and for mid-July happiness in general
