Time for something totally different! In fact...this is really how I started out, 20+ years ago, writing classical style music, mainly for piano. I've been wanting to make a production of something classical of mine, so here it is! Hey folks, I thought I would show you the original track I composed for my first ever Elatia project with Magic Sense (the finished original can be found here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R9lOp0Mwzc  ) I'm not totally sure where Elatia is heading yet since there have been some hiccups. It has always been a multiple collaboration in many aspects, created with love and not for money (I've yet to see the latter anyways :-D ). If you think you know what it's about and think you can help realise some of my more obscure compositions into trance existence, then I would be interested to know and you should private message me to discuss it further as we are looking for an additional producer Magic Sense has been a big part of this project apart from myself and has seen through the production of our first track, "Starlight Fantasia", of which this demo is my first draft before anyone else worked on it. Hi folks, here's a piece I wrote 17 years ago shortly after my graduation. It's in "fugue" form, based on a theme I used for a set of variations (which is next on my agenda to record, btw). Howard Blake - Walking In The Air (Spins Trance Refit)

Hi folks, I've deleted the version I uploaded yesterday of this track...it was hurried and I've had more time today to work on getting the piano right for this epic track from RainSonata. It's such an uplifting track full of hope and the title really spoke to me as well as the music. I knew as soon as I heard the original that I wanted to make a version with my piano in, so I hope this version sounds a little more refined than yesterday's version. I may well do my own full remix of this track, but for now you'll have to make do with this piano edit. If you haven't heard any of RainSonata's music, you really should! He's got an amazing talent for melodies and his uplifting trance is simply amazing considering he's only 14 years old. Enjoy! ;-) 

RainSonata - Our Dreams [Spins Piano Edit]

Simon Minay aka Spins showed a keen interest in music from a very early age. With very strong roots deep in the heart of classical music, Simon learned piano, trumpet, and later, harpsichord, as well, which became a favoured instrument. Inspired by listening to his grandfather's organ playing on his father's reel to reel, he attended York Minster Choir from age of 8 where he learned to sing as well.

At the age of 15, Simon fell in love with EDM, after being introduced to the likes of the Prodigy and other Goa/Psy trance sounds. House music followed, and at age 21, he attended Leeds College of Music where he studied Bachelor of Performing Arts degree, majoring in early keyboard music.

Recognising a big link between EDM and classical music, Simon's vision was to fuse the two styles. Early attempts at his own EDM music creations whilst at school in 1994/5  reflect this fusion; and later as well, in 2003, when he obtained his first computer to facilitate further creation.

After a period of slow progress, Simon's musical career has been steadily rising since 2012, when his work was signed by Beating Records & OSS Records Blue & Club G Records.

Truly, the EDM scene is enriched by this amazing sound fusion, and we look forward to hearing more of Simon's unique and beautiful trance style in the future.

Hello everyone! I really don't like talking about myself in the 3rd person...so glad my good lady wrote the above for me then! ^^ :-) I am a classically trained Pianist/Composer/Producer and I also teach piano on a part time basis. 
I have been composing music in various styles since I was age 12, mainly for piano. Since getting my first computer in 2003 (and using an ancient version of Cubase), I have been trying to create my own "trance" music, with mixed results. I am completely self taught when it comes to sequencing and production and I have a lot to learn. I would probably describe most of the tracks uploaded here as Euphoric Trance, with a little bit of classical influence thrown in, although I find it difficult to pidgeon hole most music these days. 
I am inspired by very many different artists and again it is difficult to comment on who or what is really responsible for my inspiration. I've always loved the balearic trance scene (Chicane is one fine example), but also much minimal techno, trance, progressive house/trance, psy trance etc.
I tend to steer away from using samples (apart from the odd percussion riff here and there) and have never used a sampler in my life. The percussion side of my production needs a lot of work. Most of the sounds I use are from various VST instruments and my quite old Yamaha keyboard. I like to use interweaving melodies and arps over flowing bass lines and I often use Robert Miles style piano melodies over the top of my tracks. If you like my muisc, please feel free to leave your feedback, rip open my production techniques, inform me where I am going wrong or sing my praises. Criticism is good!
