Good afternoon! Here is today's Daily Dose of Bach #39 - this is the final movement, the Gigue, from the last Partita (#6) in E minor...perhaps one of Bach's moodiest keyboard pieces. Hi folks, I'm uploading some of my really old tracks from 2003 - 2007 ...these are all unmastered, poorly produced track so don't expect clean mixes, although they will give you a demo of some of my early ideas. In 2002, I heard the Signum remix of Lost Tribe - Gamemaster, and in that track is a subtle arp which inspired me to make this track. I pretty much stole the riff, but extended it greatly around my own chord sequence. I still use arps based around this motif today, indeed I've used them a lot in my tracks, varying the rhythm, and direction of the note patterns. I guess I like them so much because they paint little musical shapes in my mind ....soo...kinda what inspired the title and also my original album name "Journeytime" as the melodies aim to carry you away on a journey. I hope you enjoy, if you can get past the poor audio quality ;-)I may rework this track again some day. Please feel free to share and download if you like :-)

Hi folks, here's something a little different. It's a remix (of sorts) of the opening movement from the Passion According To St. John, by Bach. I thought it would work rather well as trance. Hi folks, it's been a while :-) I thought I'd try my hand at recording some of my old music (I wrote this in 2001) and I got my hands on a free sample pack for Kontakt which samples the Leeds town hall organ, so it made sense to test it on this piece. I've done a lot of editing to get this sounding a little more human...I would say I can play this but it's pretty difficult and I make a right pig's ear of it. Anyway I hope you enjoy :-)

S Minay - Fantasy & Fugue In E

I wrote this organ piece in 1997 when I was 20 and about to go to university in Leeds. It was the first piece I had written in 2 years and was an attempt by me to fuse dance rhythms with more jazzy harmony and  but in the classical "Toccata" form, so to speak, since one is free to do pretty much anything in a toccata. Aside from my personal goals with this piece, it ended up being composed as an exit voluntary for my sister's wedding which I had to play the organ for. This, to say the least, is a bit of a beast to play! ...But at least I can play it (just about!!). Here is a flawless recording performed alla Monsieur DAW ;-) Enjoy! ;-)

Good morning, here is today's Daily Dose of Bach #27 - Toccata in E minor - this is one of a set of 6 Toccata's Bach wrote for keyboard circa 1708 when he was in his early twenties. Split into 4 sections, I have omitted the last section/movement as it's long and the daily dose would have turned into a full on overdose if I included it, besides, it's tricky to play at the best of times! Hello everyone! This is my old profile page dedicated to old tracks of mine (most of which are unreleased) and bit's of performances I have made of Johanne Sebastian Bach, probably one of the greatest composers that ever lived (he's a huge influence on me if you hadn't already guessed!) However my "Daily Dose of Bach is un-maintainable now since I got my life back following a hideous divorce, year in limbo writing trance (see my other profile https://soundcloud.com/spins-1 ) ....I'm now gonna post older tracks of mine from 2003 - 2012 on here. I hope you enjoy my paltry efforts into the dance music scene! ;-) 
My name is Spins (real name Simon) and I am a classically trained Pianist/Composer/Producer and I also teach piano on a part time basis. 
I have been composing music in various styles since I was age 12, mainly for piano. Since getting my first computer in 2003 (and using an ancient version of Cubase), I have been trying to create my own "trance" music, with mixed results. I am completely self taught when it comes to sequencing and production and I have a lot to learn. I would probably describe most of the tracks uploaded here as Euphoric Trance, with a little bit of classical influence thrown in, although I find it difficult to pidgeon hole most music these days. 
I am inspired by very many different artists and again it is difficult to comment on who or what is really responsible for my inspiration. I've always loved the balearic trance scene (Chicane is one fine example), but also much minimal techno, trance, progressive house/trance, psy trance etc.
I tend to steer away from using samples (apart from the odd percussion riff here and there) and have never used a sampler in my life. The percussion side of my production needs a lot of work. Most of the sounds I use are from various VST instruments and my quite old Yamaha keyboard. I like to use interweaving melodies and arps over flowing bass lines and I often use Robert Miles style piano melodies over the top of my tracks. If you like my muisc, please feel free to leave your feedback, rip open my production techniques, inform me where I am going wrong or sing my praises. Criticism is good!
