Here it is, a cover of my favourite song from the Undertale Soundtrack.
I always wanted to make it for a special occassion and, even though I am a bit late, I'm happy that it gets to release today.
I don't think I've ever put so much love in a song before, but I think that's fitting because of how much I love this game.
Sufficed to say, if not for Undertale, I wouldn't be here.
I wouldn't be passionate about music, I wouldn't realise that I can be a writer, I wouldn't have a community to appreciate what I do.
Undertale has brought so much joy to my life that it's hard thinking where I would be without it.
But as much as I love it, I must admit it's hard to branch off from it.
More and more I've been trying to create something on my own, my own songs, my own characters etc.
The first attempts were horrid, and well... they still kinda are...
Maybe sometime in the future I'll grow a pair and show you lmao
I want to treat this anniversary as a turning point for me.
Yeah I'll still make tons of fancontent for this game, but it will drift from being my main focus as time goes on.
As much as I love Undertale, I don't want this game to define me as a person.
I want to finish COTW in the next few years and after that, I'm going to create my own games.
They're not gonna be nearly as good, but I hope you'll eventually enjoy them.

havent done any proper mega man music in some time. as it so happens, my good friend forple has been working on a romhack of mega man II GB that completely overhauls its music, and asked me to do a custom track for the game's erstwhile-title-screen-theme-recycling final level. as im sure you know by now, im a sucker for any romhacking project. i was powerless to refuse.

Frozen Cathedrals (Pt. 3)

Det tredje och sista kapitlet i trilogin tar musiken till en plats bortom hetta, bortom industriellt dån – rakt in i en isande tystnad där varje ton ekar som i en glaciärkatedral.

Här smälter black metal-riffens skoningslösa energi samman med jazzens fria improvisation, men tempot saktar in. Istället för bastuns febriga kaos och fabrikernas rytmiska hammarslag hör vi nu kalla borduner, sakrala klanger och disharmoniska kluster som spricker som is under foten.

Rhodes-pianot låter som frusna vattenfall, trummorna som avlägsna laviner, och gitarrerna skriker genom stormen som kyrkklockor i snödimma. Musiken rör sig mellan kontrollerad stillhet och plötsliga utbrott – som om katedralerna själva andas.

Det är en avslutande mässa, en musikalisk gravkammare som både hedrar kaoset från de tidigare albumen och sluter cirkeln med en ton av ödesmättad frid.

Black Jazz Metal in Sauna 72 – A Nordic Trilogy

Pt. 1 – Aurora Nocturne
Det första kapitlet. Här föds kaoset i bastuns hetta – mötet mellan jazzens improvisation, black metal-riffens kyla och den rituella transens rytmer. En nattlig svit där mörker och norrsken delar scen.

Pt. 2 – Monoliths of Dissonance
En resa in i industrilandskapets hjärta. Kalla fabriker, uranblänkande torn och maskinrytmer bygger monument av oljud. Strukturerna är hårdare, rytmerna mer brutala – som att spela jazz på kollapsande fabriksväggar.

Pt. 3 – Frozen Cathedrals
Slutkapitlet. Allt fryser till is. Katakomber av klang, sakrala dissonanser och polyrytmisk kyla bildar en sista mässa för en värld på väg att stelna i frost och skugga.
