Reaching almost a decade of high-hitting productions, Jamie Jones unveils the mighty ‘Siberian Express’ on his own Hot Creations imprint. Featuring three distinct and varied tracks, this release sees Jamie at his best and proves once again why he is still riding high at the top.

Title track ‘Siberian Express’ begins blissfully with a hypnotic melody that leads into a deep swelling bass, a forceful beat and intricate layers of warbling keys. An epic breakdown rises from grumbling synths culminating with Jamie’s signature bassline and spacey stabs, as powerful builds fall in and out of play. On the flip, ‘Captain Kirk’s Battle Dance’ is solid and rolls with infectious looped basslines that steers through trippy FX. On a darker tip, ‘The 16th Floor’ is rich and deep with mesmerising synths, layered throughout over a tight groove. 

o+ Undoubtedly the pioneer of the new wave of house music, Jamie Jones is a force to be reckoned with. Alongside running Hot Creations and sub-label Hot Trax, Jamie has also started his new label Emerald City, which will release music with a greater crossover appeal. 2015 has brought forward a huge output of music from Jamie including a stunning collaboration with Kate Simko, London Electronic Orchestra and Jem Cooke on Emerald City followed by the next huge hit from his band Hot Natured called ‘Off World Lover’. Not to mention this impressive solo three tracker on Hot Creations. 

o+o Aside from spending hours in the studio and managing an intense touring schedule, Jamie also runs his night Paradise at DC10, arguably the most popular weekly night in Ibiza. Its safe to say there is no sign of slowing down for Jamie any time soon.

Hector Couto’s Roush Label welcomes French duo Chicks Luv Us to the imprint this May, alongside a remix courtesy of Madrid’s FreedomB.
Marseille based duo Anthony Fonseca and Julien Nerani, aka Chicks Luv Us, have made a considerable impact since breaking onto the scene in late 2014, releasing productions on Get Physical Music, Wow! Recordings and CUFF, whilst gracing the decks at the likes of Ministry Of Sound and Studio 338 (London), alongside their long-standing residency at Spartacus Club (Cabries). Following recent notable material on Relief, Elrow Music and Repopulate Mars, here we see the duo arrive on Couto’s Roush for a label debut, whilst FreedomB turns in an impressive remix on the flip. Title cut ‘Pick Of The Club’ opens proceedings as slick, metallic drum loops, infectious vocal hooks and rich chords combine fluently, before ‘The Other One’ unveils a medley of soulful female and echoed out male vocals laid over a wicked, driving bassline and energetic snare rolls. Last up, FreedomB’s groove focused remix completes the package as the Spanish producer works swirling synths, regimented percussion patterns and ever-evolving effects to great effect throughout.

A regular of Australia’s thriving musical circuit, Kane Dignum aka Little Fritter makes his debut on Hot Creations with ​Dub Riddem.​ The EP continues an impressive 2020, that has seen the Gold Coast native’s standout productions land on the likes of Desert Hearts and etcetc already this year.
“These three tracks are me at my core, spicy grooves, jacked up drums, heavy percussion and some loose vocal samples. All different vibes for different moods. I don't like to stay in one lane and I think this EP is proof of that!”​ ​Little Fritter​.
Those aforementioned features are present right from the offset, as ​Dub Riddem ​leads proceedings. A reverberating vocal keeps us hooked, before hard-hitting drums combine with a shimmering cow-bell lead to form a real dancefloor weapon. Puff Puff comes next, with prominent kicks giving way to a chuggy, up-and-down bassline, whilst lyrical samples echo in the background to create a choppy, groove-lead atmosphere. ​How Lucky Should We Feel? ​rounds things off in a similarly club-ready vein, merging resonant vocal cuts with punchy drum patterns and bringing shimmering hi-hats in tow.
Little Fritter ​has been a regular on the electronic music circuit for more than a decade. Having had his first release back in 2008, few artists have stayed as relevant and cutting-edge as the Gold Coast mainstay. Performances at Berlin’s Club De Visionaire and Barcelona’s Off-Sonar cemented his reputation as a respected prospect in the scene, before last year saw him support fellow Aussie Fisher at a special charity event in Sydney, where over $250,000 was raised for the Australian bushfire appeal. Such momentum culminated in the release of ​Higher, a track that gained huge air time across both US and Australian playlists, whilst this year looks set to be even better with EPs dropping on some of contemporary house’s most well-loved and well-known labels.
