Rabbi Wolfe-Blank introduces us to the life and thought of the Baal Shem Tov, the founder   of Hassidism, who was renowned for bringing a sense of love, healing and joy to his generation and their practice of Judaism. Listen as Rabbi David Wolfe-Blank shares his perspective on this Hassidic master.  

Rabbi David Wolfe-Blank studied Torah in Israel and Brooklyn for 12 years and received ordination by the Lubavitcher Yeshiva (770). He then sat for a year in a Zen center, worked with body-based therapists and healers and received an M.A. in Somatic Psychology from Antioch University - San Francisco. 

For many years he was the Rabbi-Haver of the Aquarian Minyan of Berkeley, one of the oldest and most famous Jewish Renewal Havurot, and later Rabbi of Congregation Eitz  Or of Seattle.

Reb David co-produced the Aquarian Minyan liturgies, a much-copied resource for Havurot and congregations around the United States. David produced the Meta-Siddur Monthly Subscription, a Siddur-based study guide helping to carve out a new way to become involved in the process of Davvenen. He also produced a monthly Jewish Renewal commentary on the Torah readings called Meta-Parshiot. Reb David’s goal was to help to improve the quality of Jewish spiritual life through experimentation in davvenen and other methods to deepen our soul connection with Torah through Jewish practices such as Shabbat and the Jewish holyday celebrations. Reb David ascended on August 29, 1998 - 8 Elul 5758.
