Following the more house & techno focused Spring Club Collection, The Visionquest dream team return with the sun-dappled Summer ‘Beach Collection’, starring Maceo Plex, Tale Of Us and Pillow Talk.

Part II of the Spring Summer Collection features a fresh selection of summer jams – a three-tiered melting pot of hot talent, dishing out a warm mix of sun drenched house steeped in soul, both dusky and bright, with an 80’s disco infusion. This next installment is testament to the ever-changing moods and winds across Visionquest sonic footprint. It sounds like the breeze and the heat of a memorable summer romance, soul music for the feet.

House maestro Maceo Plex steps up first with the bittersweet summer anthem ‘Falling’, the dreamy vocal drifts into the uplifting melody, funky guitar licks and subtle undercurrents of softly jackin’ beats build into psychedelic waves of hooky synths. Maceo Plex’s recent superb singles and Life Index album on Crosstown Rebels is a contender for album of the year.

Hot on the heels of the moody, epic ‘Dark Song EP’, Tale Of Us are back representing Visionquest with the deep melancholy of ‘Winds Of Change’. Eerie atmospheres unfold with gently broken beats, minor key bass notes and a mysterious vocal cut that penetrates the soul with its yearning clarity.

Sammy D aka Pillow Talk has been a fixture on the San Francisco house and techno scene for the past 12 years, having released as Justin Martin & Sammy D on luminary labels such as Derrick Carter’s Classic Records, Ben Watt's Buzzin'Fly and Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird. Sammy's new project Pillow Talk (alongside production partners Michael Tello and Ryan

Williams) is straight up soul dance music. Influenced by the great RnB singers of the 50s and 60s, Sammy’s velvet vocals displayed here in the majestic ‘Love Makes Parks’ wash over the laid-back, swinging groove and the message is clear; It’s the Visionquest summer of Love.

It's been 10 years since their last release on 20/20 Vision, but it is with great excitement that we welcome Spirit Catcher back to the label with their aptly named Blast From The Past EP! 

As one of the corner stones of 20/20, their early singles and album are legendary label artefacts and these guys were total pioneers of the cosmic, disco infused house sound which then became prominent in following years. 

Blast From The Past has been getting heavy rotation in Ralph Lawson's sets over the summer and so we're really glad to finally see it reach the light of day. This one is a trip into hyperspace with cosmic synth pulses leading the way before a killer bass line takes you track straight to planet Spirit Catcher! 

On the flip Closer takes the trip further with more expert bass hooks being joined by vox pads and otherwordly fx. The EP is finished off with Routing Madness, a homeage to the duos love for analogue studio gear which you can hear in the intricate synth patterns which pop and weave through the tracks duration.

Bringing his signature sound to Crosstown Rebels, delightfully unconventional producer SIS delivers his third release on the label, The Blind Side. Hot on the heels of his Boabab album on Mobilee, Rodriguez Jr. delivers a stunning remix on the B-side.

The Blind Side is set to soundtrack the summer, an incredibly infectious track with its exotic and intricate drum workouts and alluring vocal cuts. On the flip, Rodriguez Jr. brings in deep pads, uplifting melodic keys and a storming piano lines for a whole new take on the original.

Taking his artistic enthusiasm from his Turkish father, SIS grew up in Berlin surrounded by music. Following a series of releases on Nick Curly’s Cecille, Ricardo Villalobos who loved his track Trompeta so much that he released it on his boutique label picked up the German producer Sei es Drum in 2008. His success of Trompeta led to an avalanche of recognition, Groove Magazine and ‘Newcomer of the Year’ by Raveline Mag named him both ‘Producer of the Year’. In 2011 SIS launched his own label Cocolino where he released his debut three-part album Dejame.

Olivier Mateu aka Rodriguez Jr. grew up in the south of France and moved to Paris as a young adult and soon formed the electro group The Youngsters. Signed by Laurent Garnier to F Communications, the duo released two albums and a string of successful singles. Focusing on a different alias, Rodriguez Jr. gave Olivier the freedom to run with his creativity, which can be seen in his acclaimed live shows.
