Prodigal

My worst fears had consumed me. I wondered if infidelity could exist when someone hadn't pledged themselves to me. She certainly talked to me like she loved me. Still, I discovered what I never wanted to learn. Mistakes can be forgiven so long as control is maintained. However, when she displayed public betrayal, I was left to choose clandestine assertion.
