Spiro Catalano, Sacramento based artist has been making serious rounds over the last year in the tech house scene, signing records to labels such as Farris Wheel, CUFF, Space Yacht, and many more. When we got these demos for his 'Unique Bedding' EP, there's no way we couldn't sign them. His A-side 'Unique Bedding' features prominent rapper Meyhem Lauren, and the two deliver an absolute dance floor weapon. The groovy 808 bassline and fun percussion drive the track while using Meyhem's vocals to complement to give you a feeling of wanting the bag. Spiro's B-side brings us a vocalist he's teamed up with before, Maryy Poppins1. Between the bouncy vocal chops, playful whistle synth, bubbly bassline, and catchy vocal, 'Keep Whinin'' is an absolute slapper! All in all, this EP makes us itch for the bag. Spiro Catalano, welcome to the Bread -N- Butter family.

"Welcome back to the Neighbourhood Watch with Strange Neighbours. We hope you enjoy this month's meeting. Make yourself comfortable again, there's snacks on the table. 
This month's meeting involves a presentation of some our favourite tracks from the neighbourhood, and we also have a guest presenter.

Guest presenter: Spiro Catalano

Spiro Catalano’s groovy tech house sound has been making waves all over California and the world, with this inspiration drawing heavily from early 2000’s hip hop and skateboarding culture. Since learning to DJ at age 12, Spiro has grown into a powerhouse producer with releases on record labels such as CUFF, Farris Wheel, Wyldcard, Late Night Munchies, and more. His early DirtyBird style has caught the eye of VonStroke himself, earning Spiro a spot at DirtyBird Campout in 2018 at the Bass Lodge for the afters. Although Spiro was born and raised in Northern California, where he’s still based today, he has also played at staple SoCal venues such as Blind Tiger, Bardot, and Wicked West, which is no surprise given his unique DJ-ing style: Spiro does not believe in preparing mixes when he can overlay acapellas over beats to create his own twist on song. It’s truly a rare treat to hear live. Notably, this year, his music was played out on several stages at the Coachella Arts & Music Festival, as well as Connections Festival in Brazil and even at Ministry of Sound in 2022. Spiro Catalano hails from humble beginnings, but given his rapid upward trajectory, it’s clear he’s a rising star in the world of house music.
