Paul Ritch is no stranger to Drumcode and has returned with an outstanding single featuring three tracks that will dominate DJ sets. The first track ‘Run Baby Run’ entertains us with an arpeggiated chord sequence that is accompanied by percussion-like synth sounds before bursting into a thick-layered sequence of sound. The dark and dubby side of the single see’s Paul’s ‘Astral’ bring a funky sleazed out groovy track that also uses a discerning melody. ‘Mind Insistence’ is a dark 5am groove that will keep the dance floor swaying in the early hours with it’s tripped out feel and syncopated percussion.

<p>The dynamic duo Spektre is back and they deliver the goods on MB Elektronics with an excellent full of techno sounds EP, including a solid remix by Hollen. First up is &#8216;Redshift&#8217; and there is no better way to start an EP than this one. A hammering bassline features, broken beats alongside with a melodic synth pattern makes this one a killer. Next on the line is the remix by Hollen &#8216;Wormhole&#8217; and it is another wonderful production that is slightly more moody thanks to the heavy bassline following by upbeat drums, mixed perfectly with melodic twirls. A very beautiful track and a great remix by Hollen. Closing this EP is the original mix on &#8216;Wormhole&#8217;. Intense drum kicks build the track before an absolutely devastating bassline kicks in and drive this track to a pure techno journey. Techno fans must have this EP , it is simple as that. A stunning release from Spektre and MB Elektronics world as well.</p>

Our wild hispanic exile Juan has cemented a strong foothold in Amsterdam´s underworld subculture.  His Format brand and scorching club night, festival and touring prescience on the Dutch scene have left a permanent mark.  This EP provides a further glimpse into a sound all his own and evident of his long experience on the main dancefloors.  Tight, edgy and slightly Detroit infused, Juan has truly locked in on a very personal vibe.  Recently exploding in Europe with a clearcut techno rep, Roberto Capuano felt like a good match for the title track ¨Off Grid¨, his bone rattling drums and trademark skyward builds turn it into a truly anthemic tune.

The latest club smash from Mauro Picotto & Riccardo Ferri could not be a better fit for Gregor Tresher's Break New Soil imprint. Tailor made you might say? 

The Italian production partnership of Picotto & Ferri has the deepest of foundations and has been the driving force behind both the individual careers of both artists and the success of their excellent label Alchemy. Fresh from the release of their heavyweight single Clash, the guys roll out their latest handiwork, the finally crafted Bespoke. 

As with all Picotto & Ferri productions the spine of Bespoke is the all encompassing groove. Bouncy and driving, the bass heavy backbone is broken only by the jazzy key riffs, mysterious piercing synth melody and the shimmering open-hats. The first of the remixes comes from Julien Chaptal. The Frenchman skips us along on a wave of cymbals but its his bottom-heavy pulsing bassline that keeps us floating throughout. 

Matteo Gatti takes a more laid-back approach on this rework, allowing the groove to relax which in turn releases a new level of funk into the mix. Ramping things back up are Canadian duo The Junkies who ad their straight up drum work to give their mix of Bespoke a trademark stomp.

Not content with presiding over three out- standing labels - Dessous, Audiomatique and Poker Flat (now in its 16th year) - and dusting down his long-dormant Traffic Si- gns pseudonym for the brilliant "Cookie Jar", Steve Bug finds time in his schedule to spoil you with another stellar release.

The title track "Coconut Paradise" is a ma- sterclass in crisp, high-definition house, as dubby synths, a solid kick and an insistent bass stab form a deeply hypnotic groove. Sustained tones surge in from the distance - all the elements coming together to create a perpetual motion machine.

"Thick As Mud" lives up to its name: this is house music that draws on the deep and deadly palette and spacious arrangements of dubstep and glitch, burnished with sni- ckering percussive repetitions and scything synths.

"Pants on Fire" is a restlessly inventive bricolage of unconventional percussive sounds and textures. Metallic tones ping and bounce deliciously in every direction.

‘Let’s Prance’ is a long-anticipated eruption, it’s futuristic tremors the first visions of a timeless album for Crosstown Rebels, complete with raw and industrial reworks from Art Department & BLUD, Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey and Christopher Trücher (the album’s co-producer.).

Victor Calderone - Roll

The influential German duo of Marco Resmann and Norman Weber return to their most frequent home for a new EP of typically floor facing house music, complete with a devastating remix from label head Matthias Tanzmann. Luna City Express sure do know how to rock a party, and they have done for almost the last decade at the finest underground establishments around the world. 

First track here, Magic Bazar, is a no nonsense bomb from the off. Rooted in a dirty groove it bounces tautly until an obscured male voice sets everything on fire. It’s impossible not to imagine heads bobbing in unison to this one. 

Moon Harbour boss Matthias Tanzmann’s remix is a much more riotous affair, with rough edged percussion, angry claps and snares and a trippy melody all bristling around each: crowds will be in a controlled frenzy, for sure. 

There’s a touch of garage-y Kerri Chandler percussion to Are You Ready, which ducks and dives on a thick bassline, full of futuristic robot energy. It’s functional yet fun, and so is the lush last track I Don’t Think So. Full of warm, bright synths, old school broken beat energy and a hip hop looseness, it’s full of joy and puts a lot of stale modern house music to shame. 

This is the latest chapter in a long relationship between Moon Harbour and Luna City Express and it’s one that provides discerning DJs with plenty of firepower.

<p>MdS and Gymmy J they deliver to Respekt world an exquisite techno EP. The title track &#8216;Aug&#8217; is first and it has a great feel and energy from early on. Using a dark bassline synth pattern that gives the track a very good chunk and drive. Plus there are some twisted and sinister sounds that also give it a good dirty edge. Closing this EP is &#8216;Red&#8217;, building with ripping synth patterns as well followed by smooth beats. The solid drums kick in and from then on, we have another solid techno production.A pretty nice release here for Respekt, with MdS and Gymmy J providing a great set of productions, well done.</p>
