A set of recordings from 2009 exclavated a few days ago. Initially thought to have faded into the dust: only to be found. The recordings, when looking back are sublte discussions and intimations of the type of sound/colour/music we were moving towards. I suspect that my intentions were to distribute this set of music somehow: something refrained from. Enjoy.

Lessons First

For the purpose of experimentation, this track represents the culmination of time and arrogance. Cross-breading bread and buttered keys and digitising a chilled ambiance. The bass line, however, smiles through the composition and the mastering sits poorly between the snares and rumbling kicks. It was a memory of a book called "The Hubcap King of Hope Valley" a strange book by Sean Murphy I read in search of a male voice through life. As usual, the music is personal. An early composition, hidden through an insecurity, bringing a vibrant mix of digital experiments. The joint blends humour with  the idea that strings bend, and so hearts mend too. It ends abruptly, in a necessary flave.
