Concentration had become a thing of the past; he felt disconnected from the world around him, unable to communicate with those closest to him. It wasn't sudden, this gradual decline had begun too long ago to remember, but recently things had worsened. Every day he felt further and further and further away...

Following releases for Edited Arts and Hi-NRG, Sheffield producer diessa touches down for a two-tracker on London's All Centre, backed by a remix from NYC-based Sobolik. There's revving percussion and heavy subs a plenty across both tracks; title track 'fuck me' marries a half-time groove with haunting vocals and crisp hihats, while 'further and further and further and further and' is carried by a hypnotising rhythm smothered in dub atmospheres and whirring sirens.

Sobolik is a DJ/producer from upstate New York, working out a bed-bound take on modern percussive club music.

Following their appearance on Flex002 compilation with the track ‘Camille’, Sobolik debuts on Early Reflex with Call, their first EP, containing four melodic and D’n’B inspired cuts, marking a newfound intention from the American producer to put their music out into the world.

The cinematic effects from the overture of ‘Theater Mode’ invites the listener into Sobolik's enchanted space. The track then suddenly turns into a total belter with the entrance of its D’n’B inspired rhythmic session, characterised by a syncopated kick drum and a dub-step influenced bass.

Title track ‘Call’ follows next with its mischievous beat, prolonging the listener’s journey into Sobolik’s world where vocal’s triplets and a savvy use of delay generate a sound-induced psychedelic sensation.

The second half of the EP kicks off with ‘Luna’ which brings the mood into fast-paced and dance-floor oriented territories. Here a bouncy kick drum and futuristic bass sounds build up the tension until the entrance of a melancholy chord progression which sets the climax of the track.

The EP reaches to its closure with ‘Foil’, a slow-paced techno track characterised by an incessant rhythmic session, a swinging bass and baritonal choirs with a tantric feel.

After releasing the very tense and politically charged Flowers Of The Revolution album on SVBKVLT, Nahash returns home to France for an EP on POLAAR.

Tides talk about ebb and flow. It is also a symbol for what is taken. When the tide is high on the shore of Western Europe it is low in Haiti. When nations are impoverished in western Africa, wealth is created on the east coast of the USA. Tides continues with Nahash's brand of anti-imperialist electronic destruction, taking tempos faster as we come closer to extinction-level events.

The sounds of this EP works in contrast between heavy drum sound and airy pads and synths sounds mashing together into a sort of mutant Jungle music built from recycled drum loops and 2nd hand Trance CD samplers.

Nahash is joined on two tracks by a prominent French player of the 160-game, SNKLS, who blends his supple modular textures and abstract vision into the nostalgic rave atmosphere of the EP.

Nahash - Gambia Fish Farm

The imprint from Turin celebrates its second birthday with Flex003, a compilation featuring ten tools from new, up-and-coming and established artists from around the globe.

Ranging from 90 to 160+ BPM, the release encompasses multiple aspects of experimental club music such as dancehall, drum’n’bass, leftfield techno and broken beats sounds.

The compilation kicks off with a bass post-club experiment of ‘Gain XP’ from Bladeblanc, which leads to the combination of broken beats and atmospherical sound design of ‘Wonder’ from AYLN. Follows ’East Wing Oslo House’, the new techno-adjacent-mutant-club contribution from Ikävä Pii, and ‘Scamming’ from Lighght with its psychedelic vocals and pitch-shifting percussions. To close off the first side of the album we find the leftfield techno of Alec Pace’s ‘Ghost Money’ with its syncopated bass and mysterious vocals. Opening the second half the compilation is Honeydrip with her new work ‘Wake the Phone’, characterised by a bouncing beat and a 90's feel, followed by ‘Sentimento’, the quirky and hypnotic interlude signed by BLCKEBY. Hassan Abou Alam then brings the listener into a distant world with his glitchy robotic tool titled ‘Freeze’. The BPM then shifts up for an explosive ending where club-driven percussive rhythmics blends with d’n’b excursions in ‘Day After the Last Day’ from Diessa and ‘Rek’ from NORA DRUM.

Flex003 is available on all platforms starting from Friday 3rd June 2022.

East London's most forward-thinking record label is soon to release Nervous Horizon Vol. 4, the latest addition to their notorious various artists compilation series.

Known for bringing together regional club sounds from all around the world, this time label heads TSVI & Wallwork focus on dancehall influenced instrumentals but also throw fast paced percussive club works in the mix.

Nervous Horizon's core members DJ Plead, Ehua, DJ JM, SIM & Seven Orbits are all back with killer dubs and Vol. 4 also sees the introduction of some brand new signees: Montreal based Mexican producer Ultima Esuna, Bristol's rising star Josi Devil and congolese Nyege Nyege affiliate Chrisman. Techno prodigies Happa and Aquarian make their debut appearance on the label as well with compositions that blend intricate sound design with explosive low end.

Opening at 90 BPM and ending at nearly 160BPM, Nervous Horizon Vol. 4 is definitely going to be one of the most effective tools on the dance floor this season!

We are tickled pink to be announcing this top draw bit of tackle from label affiliate Troy Gunner with a killer Herron remix to boot. After his contribution to Unperson’s remix plate it felt right to ask him to put his shin pads on and wade into a 4 tracker. This EP sees Troy traverse a multitude of tempos and forms, using foreboding sonics and clattering percussion to create feelings of pure angst aswell as elation and we can’t wait to hear these in a club setting.

All profits made from this release will be donated to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust.
