Launched in the tail-end of 2022 - Victor Ruiz’s VOLTA imprint is already making strides in the techno space through a relentless stream of impactful releases from a mixture of some of the genre’s biggest names and most promising talents. The latest release on the label sees Hamburg-based duo ANDATA deliver a blistering two-tracker titled ‘Play Hard’.

Kicking off the release, the title cut ‘Play Hard’ does what it says on the packaging. Thumping drum work and hissing percussive drive steer the track forwards amongst a sea of progressively climactic melodic components, and atmospheric breaks whilst a catchy spoken vocal hook keeps you reeling alongside its ever-intensifying acidity from start to finish - this one was built for the absolute peak of the party.

‘Pleasant Experience’ rounds off the release with more weighty rhythms, swapping ferocity for a more groove-focused cadence. Gritty harmonies and swinging momentum float the track alongside a gripping bassline melody and endless layers of melodic accents that flow on either side of several crescendo style breaks, delivering an addictive ebb and flow of firmly danceable techno with celestial nuances.
