I've been on a big Naked Flames kick lately, and so I wanted to make a lo-bit EDM track in the vein of his recent albums. A 40-second sketch turned into a 6 and a half minute rager. Hope you all enjoy and the sound doesn't weird you out too much. This will be on a future Vast Error album so stay tuned for that!

Live From New York (Main Menu)

To kick off the new year, here's an old track of mine that I never put on Soundcloud until now! This is a remix I did back in 2019 of vaporwave giant Nmesh's 9-minute drum-n-bass monolith "Mall Full of Drugs". He released the stems for the song to the public and put his favorite takes in a compilation album, "Drug Full of Remixes". My submission made the cut and opens the B side! It was a lot of fun to remix a track of one of my favorite artists, and to have it be officially acknowledged.

The remix itself is a fair bit weirder than my usual work. I crossed over into a lot of different genres (maybe not all as expertly as I'd like) and pushed my sampling expertise to the limit. I wanted to add in some irreverent Internet-era sampling to complement Nmesh's more classical TV spots: there's Here Comes Pac-Man, Spongebob YTPs, and Undertale animations! The end result ends up feeling like a cross between a Vektroid and a Cyriak track, in my opinion; not a bad outcome. I'm still proud of this one, and I hope you all enjoy it too.

Here is the first song of mine for Vast Error Volume 5! This is my first track on Side 1. It's a hard hitting industrial rock piece for Taz, done in a Nine Inch Nails sort of style. I deliberately pushed myself far out of my comfort zone with this track, as it's not a style I am used to. It was originally composed as an instrumental, but I decided to add vocals with Rom and Julia's aid. Their assistance was invaluable!

Indomitable

Here is the third song of mine for Vast Error: Volume 5! This is my first track on Side 2, and it opens this half of the album. Barring some final tweaks to the mixing and production, I made the track entirely over the course of two days after being challenged by austinado. He also asked me to make a song unlike my usual fare, so I came up with this mournful, desolate post-rock-influenced number. I wrote this soon after finishing Breaking Bad; maybe you can tell.

Here is the fourth song of mine for Vast Error: Volume 5! This is my second track on Side 2. I did warn you all in the description for the original version of Jettison that I would be using an updated version of the song in Vast Error; a year later, it's finally happened. I had originally planned on keeping the song in its old lobit style, but last summer Naked Flames dropped a new album in gorgeous hifi and it inspired me to give Jettison a similar high-quality treatment. I also changed some pieces of the song around, though the core track is still the same as it ever was. Please enjoy!

Jettison (Redux)

Surprise! Here is my contribution to the newest Vast Error album! An original (non-canon) VE story told in album form for the Halloween season, it's titled "Perils of Probability: The Technicolor Terror From Beyond the Hyperthetical!" This is just one song in the overall narrative. It is written for a particularly ominous moment, so I wanted to go all in on the fear factor and let loose with some more noisy sound design than normal. I recommend checking out the whole album if you want to experience the story from start to finish; there's even a musical number in there! I hope you enjoy.

The Greater Good

Surprise! Here is a track I was commissioned to make for the Homestuck fan VN Friendsim 2. It plays in the route with Folkyl, Kuprum, and Azdaja during Volume 10. I was tasked to write an ominous, darker piece of synth music, with the soundtrack for the original Deux Ex as reference. I'm very pleased with the result! The volume has been out since February 2023, but I'm only now posting this song to my SoundCloud. I hope you enjoy.

The sequel to "Home" none of us four were sure we would make initially has finally come to fruition after ages of work! Stuck is track 32 of the new UMSPAF album "Land of Fans and Music 5 Act 2". It's a counterpart to Home, just as long as that song. (In fact, you can listen to both songs combined as a bonus track on LOFAM5.2!) While Grace wrote Home and I did most of the production, Stuck is really Grace's baby. Most of the writing and production you hear is fabulously hers, while I filled in some of the gaps. MINES and Ucklin contribute their wonderful vocals, without which the song wouldn't shine as it does.

Just as much as Home, if not moreso, this song was a team effort. Four years' worth of improvement has manifested into this ode to fan music, MTAHK, Homestuck, and all the little things. Thank you for listening.

Climbing to Infinity

One of my tracks for the CaNMT's Volume 7. It has since been re-released both on the CaNMT's Greatest Hits compilation album and Land of Fans and Music 4, with some updated art. This track was meant to portray a possible scenario in Cool and New Webcomic of Rose going grimdark. Although that doesn't seem too likely I'm still glad I ended up making the song. It has some pretty obvious allusions to the Undertale track "Your Best Nightmare", having the general atmosphere of that song while keeping it in the Homestuck vein.

This is my track for the CaNMT's Cool and New Homestuck 2, part of a project to remake every Flash song in a cool and new fashion. This track, obviously, is based off of "Time On My Side". Since its original release the song has been re-released both on the CaNMT's Greatest Hits 2 compilation album and Land of Fans and Music 4, with some updated art. For this song I took Time On My Side in a more synth-driven direction, while sneaking in some references here and there. Although I'm not too proud of the end result now the song has received considerable accolades so I'm happy you all enjoy it!

Thyme On My Fries

We made it to 10K! Never thought I'd see the day.

This is a mashup I originally made for the Cool and New Music Team's YouTube channel to commemorate Gorillaz' new album, but that video was taken down due to copyright claims. I decided to re-upload it here afterwards so that it wouldn't be lost to the mists of time. The song mashes up the Gorillaz song "Saturnz Barz" and the various trailer songs for Hiveswap, such as "Old Secret." I also snuck "Explore" and "Carne Vale" in there. The track art is a parody of the cover art for Humanz and was made by myself. Enjoy!

Secretz Barz

This is my track for the CaNMT album Call and New 2: Locomotif. This album is a successor to Call and New, where a base song was made, someone had to remix that song, and someone had to remix that remix, and so on in a linear progression. The sequel mixed things up by adding branching paths for remixes to follow. I originally made this track back in October 2016, with the album itself releasing in May 2017. Kind of a jump there.

Hijacking Jungle

This is my track for the CaNMT's .jpeg album, where track art was made first and music had to be based around it. It has since been re-released on both the Greatest Hits 2 compilation album and Land of Fans and Music 4, with updated art. This is probably my favorite song out of the ones I've produced so far, and one of the most intricate and layered. I'm incredibly happy with the end result and am humbled to see it prominently featured on so many amazing projects.

A song I made to celebrate the release of the new VN "Doki Doki Literature Club," where you write poems to win the affection of one of four girls in a new high school club. It seems cute and simple enough, but there's a lot more lurking underneath the surface than there seems. With a game as cheery and unsettling as this, I figured I had to give it the vaporwave treatment. Enjoy... if you dare.

Fun fact: I sampled one of the endings to FEZ at the end of the track to help bring home the effect of the instruments decaying into static. I think it turned out well. Hopefully I can do content more directly related to FEZ soon...

Commercial Break

Here's something quick to tide you all over as I work on bigger projects and wait for other finished ones to release. I thought it would be a cool idea to remix one of my earlier songs, "Climbing to Infinity". I put more of a synthwave/club spin on it this time around while still retaining its ambient edge. Deep-Sea Trouble

What better way to spend 7/20, a day permanently associated with Homestuck musician and credit score aficionado Michael Guy Bowman, than with a 6 minute 12 second long medley of all the songs from his debut album? Enjoy this trip down memory lane; a Mobius Trip, even.

I made this song over the course of July 2018 for the parody album "Homestuck Volume 11", a fake image that the Cool and New Music Team turned into a real album. Since the track names and times existed from this image but there were no tracks to go with them, it was up to the composers to create ideas to go along with the names. Makin approached me asking if I was up to making a medley of every song from Mobius Trip and Hadron Kaleido for this track, and I accepted. It took a lot of long hours into the night and countless time spent making sure that the individual parts flowed well as a whole, but the end result is something I am comfortable with calling one of my best songs.

The Return of Mobius Trip and Hadron Kaleido

Here's my contribution to Vast Error Vol. 4, the latest album from the Vast Error Music Team that released this past Halloween! It's a character theme for Occeus Coliad, a reclusive scientist with a mysterious third eye who is determined to save his race from an undead plague. I felt drawn to make a dark and foreboding track for this troll, and I hope it fits the season.

Transmuted

This is my song for unofficialmspafans' newest album "Cosmic Caretakers," an anthology of songs for each guardian figure through Homestuck's story! Doc Scratch, the literal First Guardian of Alternia, fits this description quite nicely. I wanted the song to mirror Scratch's character, normally calm but mercurial under pressure. The result was this: a laid-back lounge tune with plenty of jazz and some added reverse pianos to harken back to the Felt days, but some more dramatic orchestration and noise lurking under the surface.

I first wrote this song back in July-August 2017. I've been waiting a long time to share it with you all, and I hope you feel it was worth the wait.

A joint effort between myself and Grace, what was originally a love letter to the Homestuck track "Forever" transformed into a 10:25 multi-part epic as we expanded its scope. This is our opener to the unofficialmspafans' album "Moons of Theseus," a tribute to Michael Bowman's debut solo effort (Mobius Trip and Hadron Kaleido)! Since agreeing to the collaboration *many* months ago, the two of us became greater skilled composers and producers, which resulted in the impressive experimentation here. Neither of us could have made this song back when we first pitched the idea, and neither of us could have made it without the other. It was truly a team effort. I hope the hard work and passion we poured into this song is evident when you listen. Thank you for sticking around, after all this time.

Track 1 on the new Vast Error Music Team album "Catch 322," a collection of Alterniabound-esque jams that may be seen in future walkarounds and flashes! I wrote three tracks for the album; this one was the last I started but the first I finished. It was born out of a jam session during the production of Home and I worked at it over the course of June 2019. I wanted to make a fast-paced battle theme to switch things up from my slower ambient-oriented tracks.

Minute to Win It

Track 2 on the new Vast Error album "Catch 322," a collection of Alterniabound-esque jams that may be seen in future walkarounds and flashes! I started this song back in April 2019, when Austin approached me with an idea to make a character theme inspired by Amanaguchi's "The Dark One" off the Scott Pilgrim video game OST. The original track is an intense rock-chiptune fusion packed full of energy, and I tried to harness it best I could on this moody theme for everyone's favorite boy.

Track 9 on the new Vast Error Music Team album "Catch 322," a collection of Alterniabound-esque jams that may be seen in future walkarounds and flashes! This track was the first I started but the last I finished for the project. I laid the first samples down at the end of January but, after making several other tracks in the interim and battling sickness in the summer, Murrit's mashup-heavy funk jam was only finished in the middle of August. I hope it was worth the wait!

Murrit's Theme

Here is the second song of mine for Vast Error: Volume 5! This is my second track on Side 1. I originally made this piece back in January 2020 as an ode to Oneohtrix Point Never's early progressive electronic style (although a little more maximalist). It was meant to be released on a solo EP, but thanks to the pandemic that never quite materialized. I always loved the track, though, and when time came for work on Volume 5 to begin I decided to throw it on the album.  I still consider it to be one of my best songs.

I've had Oneohtrix Point Never stuck in my head for the last few months so this is my synthesis of his ideas in music form. Shoutout to Returnal and Memory Vague for helping me through finals.

Going to try and release an EP before the year's over. This will be on it, as well as another song I've published here and some others in progress.

I ADMIT IT, I DON'T KNOW HOW KING CRIMSON WORKS!! HE ERASES TIME BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! ...

Here's my track for the newest surprise Vast Error album, "Corporate Holiday Hits". I banged this out in the two days right before this Christmas as both a reinterpretation of some of my favorite Christmas songs and just a solid corporate jam. To be honest, I surprised myself with how long of a track I was able to write in such a quick span of time!

It feels good to be returning to music after not really touching a DAW for months and months due to quarantine malaise. Thank you all for the continued plays, follows, and support. I hope you enjoy this track, and if you don't, that's okay, because I have another one set to come out before the year ends. Stay tuned...

Corporate Merriment Jingle 32

I'm reporting in with another track for Snowbound Blood! This song plays in Crytum's route during Volume 10. Since he is Sabine's neighbor, I wanted to contrast Sabine's jittery eclectic theme with a more laid-back and melancholy track that stayed in one lane: 16-bit soundfonts. Comment if you recognize any of them, there's one in particular I used a lot!
