The First EP

We have to say huge thanks to Les Plumridge because without his help, patience, and expertise this would not have been possible. This happened because of good fortune and timing. Les needed a band to help him complete a module on his university course. Unfortunately, he was unable to record his own band - Mirrors of Madness - due to a conflict of interest or something like that. 
Les, a long-time friend of ours, then turned to us. Having seen us play on numerous occasions he knows the band and the tunes. Les also played with Alex in pre Mirrors band Two Tonne Vice, so was well aware of the noise requirements. 

We arrived at Ivy Arch Studios on a sleepy Sunday afternoon in March. Les had been there for a good few hours before us, meticulously setting up the room and getting ready. We then set up, tuned up and ran through several takes, fuck ups, tantrums and laughing fits of each song until we were all happy. Downside of this was that by the last few takes, Ian’s voice was suitably fucked at the end. 
 
Les set about mixing and weaving his studio magic across the tracks. 
We also need to give special thanks to Mike Baker at Seamonster Sound for his guidance and advice throughout the process. Mike is a star!
Les and Mike have managed the impossible and made us sound great, thank you!
Apart from a few post recording overdubs on Green Lady (acoustic guitar and ukulele), this is a full live recording.
