The movie was definitely emotionally draining. It makes you want to blow the dust off the 1800's and dive right back in the books. Great film!


It's high time the Spoiler Guys reckoned with 12 Years a Slave. 

Were you a bit wary - as we found ourselves - to subject yourself to the harrowing tale of Solomon Northup? 

Did you avoid eating your cultural vegetables? 

Emotional scenery chewing aside, 12 Years a Slave makes for rich discussion: the opening 'emergency sex' scene, the score, as well as the closing catharsis being but a few topics that make for heated debate.  But never fear, it's not all earnestness - you will hear Marc sledge John Williams, Alice butcher the Irish accent, and we also make the case for a new inclusion in the Spoiler Guys drinking game...
