Simone Scardino has created a musical style and vision that truly is his own, sharing it with the world with his new solo project CONCEPTUAL.
Techno is body music. It’s all about this special feeling that you have when your mind disconnects and your body just follows the music, the feeling of freedom when you dance. Simone’s vision of techno unceasingly characterizes his unique productions as well as his DJ sets. Colorful and energetic techno, a powerful explosion of craziness and happiness at the same time. Three-dimensional spatial sounds combined with gentle but determined drum grooves create a mystical and whirling result and a killer stereo experience!
Last year Simone founded the Berlin based art and music collective Friendship Collective. Through his devotion to techno and visual and performance arts the idea for CONCEPTUAL was born. His performances will often be characterized by collaborations with visual artists and performers, creating a special techno experience for the people that come to see him play.
Simone’s progressive approach to producing and DJing as well as his collaborations with artists in and outside music reflects his artistic vision and goals as much as his spirited personality, and, in its essence, embodies what CONCEPTUAL represents. Plans for the year hold upcoming releases as well preparing playing live, continuously exploring the world of electronic music with his fans.

Born and raised in Italy since ‘98, Pyramidal Decode is the pseudonym of a Techno polyhedral producer.
He started DJing as a young teenager and began producing techno works as well as playing other more classical instruments.
In 2017 he created Pyramidal Decode releasing his tracks in labels such as Subsist records, DeadCert rec, Labrynth, Parabola records and many others.
His music is hard to confine in one genre, but it spaces out between ambient techno and hard industrial. It comes out as a hypnotic trip that he uses to lead the dancefloor to further places. 
2020 and 2021 have been years of major evolution in Pyramidal Decode’s production, he released his works on Axis, Edit Select, Modularz, Dynamic Reflection, B55, Hard Tools rec, and more.

For CoziMix 19 we welcome, Biocym @biocym :) Biocym is an artistic stemming from the vibrant landscape of Italy, seeking to evoke profound emotions through a distinctive soundscape that reflects a deep connection to reality, atmospheres, and the human experience. Through the interplay of atmospheres and scenarios, Biocym masterfully crafts sonic landscapes that invite listeners on a journey of introspection. We are soooooo excited to have him to contribute this masterpiece of a mix for us filled with weighty, bass driven techno & upbeat percussive rhythms :)

Cozi Questions...

1. How and why did you get into producing / dj’ing?
“I’ve always been passionate about this kind of music for over 10 years. Six years ago, I had the opportunity to enroll in a sound engineering university. There, I met a friend who helped me a lot, especially during sessions, teaching me how to produce music. From there, I really focused and began producing my first tracks, releasing them without any big expectations. Little by little, I started gaining more recognition, which eventually led to my first public performance in 2022 at Gare Porto. This opportunity motivated me to continue pursuing this path."

2. Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you’ve been to or experienced and why?
I always find the events at Masada in Milan, especially the Acquario ones, to be the coziest. It’s one of the best places, and the atmosphere is always intimate and family-like, which makes it feel really special.

3. Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert in the scene?
“I would consider myself more introverted, as I’m not someone who actively pushes myself into the spotlight. Sure, I enjoy sending demos to labels, trying out new collaborations, and so on, but when it comes to gigs, I prefer to stay in my own space and wait for opportunities to come to me, especially since I don’t have a booking agency yet, so I don’t feel comfortable pushing myself too much.”

4. If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever, what would it be?
So hard to pick one but lately I’ve been obsessed with Camber by Glances

5. What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? Do you have any special remedies/ mental/physical prep/ places to go to? 🙂
“I don’t have a specific routine, but when it comes to production, I need to find some inspiration first, whether it’s by experimenting with new sounds or trying out new patches in VCV Rack. From there, things usually flow. 
As for gigs, I try to gather information about the club, the vibe, and when exactly I’ll be performing during the night. This helps me stay as coherent as possible with the set, while also adding a bit of craziness to keep things interesting 🙂

SPOKEN097 - Nicolò Bernardi 

For the February edition of the series, we are excited to share this mix by dj and producer Nicolò Bernardi. The Italian artist, currently residing in New York, has been crafting a sound that feels dark, deep and psychedelic filled with experimenting excursions and pulsating synth sounds. With releases on labels such as Subsist and INFRA he is showcasing his vision to the community. Besides this, Nicolò Bernardi is part of the project A Delicate Balance alongside Sploofi. The duo holds a residency at the New York club Bossa Nova Civic Club, performing under the name ADB.

The set he recorded for SPOKEN is a smooth ride of driving and grimy club sounds, perfect to get you started this weekend. We hope you enjoy it!

Hd Substance has been exposed to electronics for more than three decades, born in
1970 he lived the 80’s as a teeneger, experiencing in realtime all the synth pop golden era
watching his fIrst Depeche Mode concert at the early age of 15.

Soon he estarts the trio Ballet Mecánico with heavy electronic pop influences, touched
soon by the north european EBM dark wave. After a travel to London in the late 80’s he
discovers Acid House and the rave culture, starting his solo project Hd Substance at the
beginning of the 90’s.

His firt release comes in the compilation Electronic Generators, released by the cult label
Geometrik, home of the anthemical industrial band Esplendor Geometrico. After that
stepping stone he releases a several 12” and two albums on the seminal pop label
Elefant Records during the nineties as well as in labels from all over the world.

During the beginning of the 21th century continues releasing in labels like Primary or
Consigned recordings and gives birth to his label Atlas, gainig great succes in the techno
world. 30 years after he is still here, as dj, producer and journalist, giving all his body and
soul to electronic music. Now running the SUB tl label with Leandro Gámez and touring
the best techno clubs like Berghain, Razzmatazz, Rodnya Moscow, Lola Shanghai or The
Works in Detroit.

Hailing from Belgium, Border One has amassed an irrefutable reputation in his home country and beyond since the release of his first 12-inch record in 2015. Between a fascination for sound discovery through the use of his modular synthesizer and his loyalty to the classic club rhythms, Border One’s style serves as a swiss-army knife for promoters and DJ’s on an international level. 
With a self description expressing a priority to make the crowd move, his music does not fall short of its intention. Forward thinking in its conception rendered highly functional in its implementation, Border One’s music finds middle ground in an increasingly polarized musical climate for the genre; whether it be through his selection as a DJ or his technicality as a producer. Considering this, his release catalogue seems only appropriate. He has released EP’s on Knowledge Imprint, Setaoc Masse’s SK-X, his own Border One Records, Freddy K’s KEY vinyl imprint, and the infamous Token Records to name a few.

From Europe’s southern tip in the Gibraltar-facing port city of Algeciras comes ORBE, the Spanish techno enthusiast whose potent beats have hammered out a pedigree path both as DJ and producer. Prevailing winds carried Fernando Sanz first to Seville to study sound engineering, later to Madrid where the fertile scene allowed him to build a community of music-minded friends that have put that city squarely on the map. Under these conditions, his work (what he terms a means of ‘contacting the future, the avant-garde’) has developed into something much deeper and more sophisticated. His love of artists like Brian Eno and Boards of Canada, and roots in breakbeat and drum and bass have informed a style that’s allowed him to take up the mantle as one of Spain’s most interesting talents. Under his self-titled record label (est. 2014) come his signature killer tunes, and in his work with names like Eduardo de la Calle and labels like Token, Hivern Discs, Axis and Mote Evolver a pole position at the forefront of modern techno. Fresh off his set on the Bassiani floor (14th March) comes this next Bassiani mix. Tensile rhythms that lurch ahead with supernatural power, an involute web of intelligent sounds that attest to his skill as selector. Bassiani Podcast 254 is an hour-long mash up of elfin beats, a vibrating hymn to the sounds of tomorrow, Orbe at the top of his game.
