Our 97th podcast, and number two of the Summer Series, will be provided by the Portuguese artist CRAVO. As one of the founding members of the notorious Hayes Collective, CRAVO made quite the name for himself in the recent year with a couple of outstanding releases. Both his solo release, “Eternal Paradox EP” on Setaoc Mass’ SK_Eleven, and his co-created “Klockworks 32”, which he released together with his good friend VIL on Ben Klock’s label of the same name, shows the craft with which CRAVO shapes his tracks.

For FrenzyPodcast 097, CRAVO created a one hour mix in which he presses the pedal and does not let go. Some heavy hitting techno alternating with his signature groove, and some futuristic elements in between, characterize the sound which he expresses in this mix. The early 2010s were an extended annus mirabillis for heavy-hitter Sébastien Michel, whose release of megahit ‘Mixtion’ was just the start of a trajectory that followed the shedding of his former skin as half of Daxyl and saw him pursue a more streamlined and emphatic vision of the techno future under his UVB pseudonym. Back in a time when he was hell-bent and producing up to three tracks a day, his early excursions into clubland were distinguished by sets forged exclusively from his own work; that gamut is a little broader nowadays but clearly no less exciting and personal. For the latest instalment of Bassiani Podcast series, he packs those years of toil into a succinct and aggressive strike, hedonic yet disciplined, the type of masterful studio mix you’d expect from the Body Theory label boss.

However, since the moment I touched the decks during this mix, I intuitively knew it was going to be something special… something which I would be happy for those who were not there to partially feel, listen and enjoy. This set includes a selection of my favorite tracks from this year -some older some newer- and all fundamental to create a linear, coherent story.

With his debut record out on SK and another one coming up very soon on the same imprint, Federico wasted no time with DJ gigs, throwing himself in the international scene alongside top-tier artists for a career that’s only getting started.
