Going back a good few years to the time when I used to play this sort of stuff when I wasn't playing techno.  In my opinion there was three different eras of hard house in the UK; the beginning, when it was basically a beefier version of house music, the Tony De Vit era. The middle when it progressed to the faster tempo, bouncy stuff - the Tidy & Nukleuz sound. And then finally the flat out, hoover driven, hard as nails stuff featured in this mix. This was the more extreme end of the spectrum and it couldn't really go any further than this so it pretty much died. It was good while it lasted though! Not to everyone's tastes, but I had some great nights in clubs at stupid o'clock going nuts to these tunes :)

Player Records were the undisputed kings of the bootleg/re-edit in the techno world. Rave, electro, ghetto, house, tribal, hip hop all got sampled and smashed over a beat. I was always a fan, nothing better than dropping a player record in a set when you need that track with a wee hook people will recognise, so when they recently put all their back catalogue up for a ridiculously cheap price I saw it as a good chance to get a few I was missing.
