French label B.YRSLF Division has seen its reputation steadily build in recent times through a series of genre-bending, bass-inclined releases from fellow up-and-comers like Obey City, Norrit, and Seapoint.

And the label is certainly no stranger to giving music away for free: Last summer, B.YRSLF released the free Summer Crisis compilation, and today, Summer Crisis 2 has arrived. While the second edition is less heavy on recognizable names, there's no shortage of eclectic goodies to dig through here, with 22-tracks that span the range of current bass music sub-genres from around the globe.

As the temperature begins to rise, sweat builds and ice cream starts to melt in the sun, we celebrate the return of not just our favorite season Summer - but the #SummerOfCreme! 

To kick off our summer of fun, we have the return of SHE Spells Doom's 2015 debut classic "Jacuzzi Jam Junction" but this time, the tracks have taken the form of mutant and reanimated remixes with the help of a stellar line up of artists from around the globe. 

A newcomer to Creme, @dj-dvd-rip (the sinister club brainchild of The Phantoms Revenge) heats things up to Volume 11 (woah!) with a spastically precise and heavy hitting club remix of Green Wires. Another first timer to Creme, blaqkongo (@blaqkongo) serves us a fresh slice of hazy sunset house on his flip of Gardenia Haze. The man, the myth, the legend - S.S.D. (@shespellsdoom) himself has a blessed us with a faded slow burner of his own track and to round us out, label head Cream Dream (@cream-dream) provides us with an evil techno flip built to destroy!

Gardenia Haze (blaqkongos's Klarity Mix)

'Empathy' marks the first of a series of EPs from the Cape Town based DJ, Producer, and label head, blaqkongo.

Using music and the moon phases to create a dialogue, @blaqkongo aims to take each listener on a journey over his next few EPs by borrowing influences from a wide variety of sources. This release showcases a bouncy, UK House inspired groove, where the chords and bassline do the talking while the kick keeps the vibe intact.

After the release of his second EP, 'A Gemini Moon Phase', blaqkongo has decided to explore a deeper, more emotive side of him with his latest track, 'Soul Gazing'.

In a nutshell, the track features the quintessential elements of a blaqkongo track: shuffling hats, ethereal pads, deep basslines, chord stabs and elevating strings. However, this release shows the artist finding his 'home' with the addition of new elements, using them to create a sound and space that is rooted and experiential in nature - think head bobbing whilst tapping into deeper feelings and having your heart strings pulled.
