In late 2009 and early 2010, Nathan Moore laid down the foundations of the album Sport Fishing USA is his bedroom in Athens, OH. He was joined by his brother Brendan Moore on drums for recording which took place in both Athens and the Moore family home in Yellow Springs, OH.
The name of the band was taken from a book published by the U.S. Department of The Interior in 1971. The book: Sport Fishing USA is a guide book to the fishable waters of the United States and extols the “…fun and frustrations, mysteries and rewards of sport fishing,” through pictures and essays.
