Together Free (Disco) is absolute killer! Like the tougher sibling of a lost Lindstrøm track, this thunders out the blocks with a hooky as heck melody that never lets up & grabs you by the cosmic collar and take you into space whilst also keeping one foot firmly in the murky basements. Proper end of night power puncher!

Title track The Creeps is a big slice of throbbing intergalactic disco tinged mega-ness that punches & kicks like a mule from the get go. Crazy hypnotising with a breakdown thats sounds like The Orb double dropped. This is an absolute power packing hefty hitter of a track.

Parrot closes off this outing and still rides the cosmic train but firmly travels the murky rout of the underground with elements of Belgium Nu-beat hitching a ride. A real peak time 'lose your shit' style pumper for fans of Rex The Dog style shenanigans!

We're not totally sure but that's what the basis of Chris Massey and Elliott Lion (of the acclaimed British band "Editors") came up with under the 'ISO City' guise and we're frothing like mad to drop this 2 tracker which absolutely slaps like crazy!

Light Cycle revs like crazy with a snarling arp bass line atop pounding tom drums and snappy percussion right before a laser blasting synth line explodes into your frontal lobe and releases warp factor endorphins all over your brain! Imagine a cosmic rave aboard The Death Star with everyone doing that dance off Buck Rogers whilst tripping off Romulan wine and you're halfway there. Serious epic soundscape.

Master Control Programme continues the throbbing arp line action and goes into an altogether deeper cosmic zone with some cold wave-esque buzzy synth lines which lead way to the kind of synth stabs that make John Carpenter's Halloween theme sound like something for sunsets at Mambo. Thief of Time is Chris’s new album and moniker he’s been developing since before the first lockdown (remember that!).

We spoke with Chris about creating his first album, his inspirations, and reasons for choosing now to leap into LP territory.

Thief of Time comes from a deeply personal place and covers themes of imposter syndrome, social injustice, and love and relationships. The album spans many genres and emotions with something for everyone from cinematic strings, to left-field guitar tracks.

Manchester, Sprechen is one of those imprints whose core sonority turns its catalogue into a wealthy source for the ones in search of high-quality space-inspired gems. From Saturn-sunset Balearic deliciousness to Mars-dawn House Music furor, its collection fails to disappoint – and its forthcoming episode is another irrefutable proof: The acclaimed “Edgy Future Discotheque” VA-series reaches its sixth volume and showcases the aforementioned soundscapes. Coyote remixed by Massey, Popsneon, La Guardia De La Luz (with not one but two tracks on board), Mummy's Boy, and minimalArchiv jumped in hard with stunning cuts devoted to triggering zero gravity experiences on the dance floor.

The theme we hand-picked to premiere was cooked with love by maestro Chris Massey, the label honcho himself, who decided to give a go on Coyote's “Cami' De Sa Veleta”, originally released in 2021, and delivered an “emotion-filled blast of synth-tinged and sunshine-drenched amazingness”. Melodic leads, soothing percussive elements, and a roaring synth extravaganza create the perfect opening for the compilation.

Massey is very much an integral stalwart of Manchester’s underground electronic music scene where he is immersed in music on a daily basis and juggles multiple roles from producer, engineer, remixer, promoter, booker, programmer, radio host, A&R & tea boy (obvs).

He runs his own label Sprechen and oversees an A&R/label manager role for the legendary Paper Recordings as well being a resident at Manchester’s Sticky Heat alongside running a whole manner of club, music & arts related events via Sprechen.

His DJ sets jump genres from house to disco, Italo, ‘jolly techno’ to boogie & ‘weird
Stuff’ alongside his own productions & remixes which have entertained dancers
at gatherings not only at clubs and festivals in the UK, but also across across
Europe at the likes of Barbarellas Discotheque & for Frekuensi Minor in
Jakarta. 

He has DJ'd alongside the likes of Lindstrøm, Optima, Cynthia, Justin Robertson,
Nancy Noise, Rex the Dog, Horse Meat Disco, Hifi Sean, Raw Silk &
Awesome Tapes From Africa and Sean Johnston/Hardway Bros at the seminal night ALFOS which Sprechen promotes in Manchester.

More recently her has developed Sprechen into being more than just a record
label and to be more a hub to nurture new & emerging creatives and where he
can assist and mentor in the final mix & engineering stage of music
production. 

His latest venture has been 'The Thief Of Time', a cross genre studio project which focuses on music away from the clubs and is heavily influenced by a life lived through the 80's with sounds, stylings, aesthetics & narratives all taking place in the semi autobiographical productions.

“For the Feincast I wanted to try and focus on an sounds that are very much in my sets when playing the late set at any Sticky Heat parties as well as at ALFOS but which are also quite easily linked to my sound as The Thief Of Time. Being a child of the 80’s I have a particular findness for sounds that are heavy on synths and packing loads of energy whether that’s fast or slow, stripped back of stacked with loads of layers.
