I really like the mix. The high, piercing tones could easily be too piercing, but they are treated just right for the surrounding tones.

Recorded at a new associate reception at the band's employer. This is the last song of the last live set we ever played before Gregg retired. We played in a large atrium, so Dhanush's drumming is prominent due to the acoustics.

Using a new tool called Atlas, which combines all of my samples into a random cloud of sounds, I arrived at the percolating rhythm underlying the main theme. Adding BPM synth and bass laid the groundwork for the whole rhythm track. Rather than stay in 4/4 time for a bridge, I challenged myself to get into and out of a 12/8 section. Finally, I came back and overdubbed electric guitar to complete the song.

Earthly Delights

Moments Before The Storm

One of my favorite bands is Tuu. They do ambient/new age/world music mixing traditional instruments with modern technology and electronics. This song is the closest I've gotten to sounding like them. Other than the night time sounds, all the drum, bell and percussion instruments were played on a Roli Seaboard. The flute was played in on a regular keyboard controller.

Back in the 80s when the PCs were available, I started very soon to combine computers with synthesizers. Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream introduced me to electronic ambient music.
The 'magic' when power becomes sound is still fascinating. 
Today I produce and design sounds and music in an Sonic Core Xite-1 enviroment. 
Actually I am focused on developing DSP synths, effects and sounds that I use in my music.
