An ecstatic night at Ecstatic Dance Cairns, celebrating two years! We danced as 70 to our freestyle movement journey - all bodies, all people, all aged adults at Tanks Arts Centre. It was off the hook and such a joy to share music and move as community.   

The first 40 minutes is arrival including introduction and facilitation which also included the serving of cacao for our special dance (thank you to Leilana Grace of Moments in Touch for joining us!)  . The microphone wasn't recorded.

Meta_ is Mariana Bragada, a singer, composer, and producer from the region of Trás-os-Montes in Northern Portugal. Her debut album, XIV - A Integração, is intimate and organic, with deeply emotive vocals and acoustic instrumentation, yet at the same time heavily features electronic production with deep bass and atmospheric soundscapes. She brings together elements of organic downtempo and trip-hop with ancestral wisdom and yearning vocals that express her hardships and fantasies while reflecting her Portuguese roots. 

XIV- A Integração is the sonic journey of Meta_, born in Trás-os-Montes Portugal, from her roots to South America. 
In 2019 she traveled to Pucallpa, Peru, where she had the opportunity and honor to connect with the Ayahuasca medicine plant and be in the presence of a family of Maestros and Maestras from the Shipibo tribe. Coincidentally, in the following 2 weeks, she performed Live Sound Design for Theatre shows of UmColetivo in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and Montevideo, Uruguay. 
This album is Meta_'s ode to Mother Earth and the human experience, highlighting the symbiosis of organic sound with electronics, tied together with her unique voice. 
Emotions, visions and lyrics are expressed in 3 languages ​​- Portuguese, Spanish and English. It is in this complementarity that a unique sonic universe is created, born of Portuguese ancestry united with the internal and external journeys of Meta_ across the world. 
The songs were written, composed and sung by Meta_ with 2 international collaborations - Labaq (Brazil) and Bom Beijo (Sweden) and percussionist Manu Idhra (PT). Meta_ produced the album, with Bom Beijo jointly producing 7 songs. 
This is the space for integrating Meta_'s life lessons. Beyond duality, this album is based on the colorful, intimate and empowering spectrum of revealing yourself to the world, just as you are, with fears, dreams, pain and love. It’s about death, about life, about being here. 
It was in South America that Meta_ was born again and, so far from the land where she lives, she felt at home. It is with this journey and its alchemy manifested in the album, that the common and cross-border value that music has of union, ancestry and healing is visibly awakened.

Live recording from Charleston Ecstatic Dance on 11/10/2023 in celebration of my dear long time friend Shellie White Light. Special thanks to Mark for hosting me while I was in town, and to Alex for scheduling me synchronistically on Shellie's 30th bday. :D

I often preplan my sets, however, this one was improvised on the spot and weaved in several of my favorite ecstatic dance tracks to create a fun and playful wave.

P14YR4 is the anthem for everyone who gets in late — the fourth player, the wild card.
Inspired by gaming energy and EDM legends, this album celebrates the spirit of joining in, turning chaos into euphoria.

Hello friends! Excited to share with you this offering, that I shared with 30 wonderful women on the rural bush-lands of regional far north-eastern Australia last weekend. Together we danced barefoot on the soil, next to the river, around the fire, with the open sky abound…. In prayer and ritual, in ceremony & celebration of the dawning New Earth: The Feminine Rising.

  Aurora Celeste @tribalvisionamazon & I were inspired by the culminate calling of the last few months collective-energy… and together we came to offer ritual to the ancestors, drank cacao (of course) and to emerge as the butterfly’s we are and spread our wings, dancing not just for ourselves and the Earth but all of humanity.  Our event intentioned ‘Earth Rebirth: An Women’s Outdoor Gathering’

  The feminine-medicine mix is dedicated to those sisters who can’t dance, those who cannot sit still enough to listen or who may be forced upon without freedom to simply enjoy Sound. Our prayer is to unite, to share the wisdom of the Earth through these sounds, so that the United Feminine of Voice Of the Body/The Heart through All: Shall Rise Again. 

  This is my greatest intentional music mix to date, and although still the forever learner to the technology to do so… my greatest inspiration and Love is that of Listening: these are some of the sounds that has lifted my heart in these times and given a voice to the great story I believe emerging true: She = We.  

A mix dedicated to Mother Earth, and all it’s creatures, worlds, and lives - of those, past, present & future. 

  Please consider buying the music directly from the artists whom is listed inside & thank each one so deeply for their incredible individual beauty to be able to culminate in a new way of collective story telling in these times! This mix is shared in promise to those women who wanted tunes and to those friends, many sisters around the world whom I hope we can reunite to dance again together, in person.   Im also highly interested in continuing to collaborate with other women and artists intentional in their sonic ceremony work: dance events, ecstatic dance, ceremonies of all sorts, in service.   Please share with your daughters, sisters, mothers, grandmothers and aunties. May the unfathomable wisdom & power of intentional sound waves reach those who need it, in these times.  

My suggestion to also carve ritual and ceremony around this in your day for intentional sound journeying! I would highly recommend also if you felt, giving offerings before or after, to the Otherworlds or your female ancestors, as we did. Do as you feel true &  INJOY!! <3

EarthRebirth - An All Women's Outdoor Gathering (Ecstatic Dance Mix)

EMILY EMBER is a dancer,  DJ, vocalist and budding music producer/ritual artist known as ‘Spring Jaiah’

Growing up in the bushland of tropical far north-eastern Australia, she spent her twenties travelling the world in pursuit of body-mind healing which revealed the power of practice on intentional dance floors and music can have on community. Since her first event in the area as far back as 2015, in 2021 she founded Ecstatic Dance Cairns, bringing diverse flavours and global rhythms to men and women, through full bodied emotional and danceable journeys moving the FNQ region ever since. She is also a somatic-psychology/BA Psych/Couns student, shamanic practitioner and servant of creating and facilitating safe spaces for self and community transformation.

Some of her music flavours explored in 2025 include afro beats, world, global bass, drum and bass/jungle, melodic & ethnic house plus many more… in effort of fusing sounds from all across the world, from the Africas to the Andes, Bristol to Berlin and beyond in cathartic ritual ecstasy.

Everything Emily does is to serve re-connection of earth-wisdom and sacred remembrance.
