This song - Distant Thunder, Sunday Morning (Again) - is the 6th song for the forthcoming album which will be released early next year.

I wrote this song 8 years ago, and included it in my previous album (“This Is The End”), but the sound was clearly different from the original demo. While the original demo featured traditional three-piece band sound, I re-created the mood of the song by an acoustic guitar and old-school drum machines because it was the main theme of that album. However, I really liked the original arrangement, so I recorded this song again and added “Again” to the title.

As for the forthcoming album, I am trying to do my best to release 1 new track every month, instead of unveiling all tracks at once when I release the album. Actually, completing 1 song per month is tight on time for me, but if I don’t have this type of self-imposed deadline, I may not be able to complete 12 tracks by the end of this year. So this strategy works for me so far.

This song - “It was almost 3 a.m. I was looking up at the sky” - is the 9th song for the forthcoming album which will be released early next year.

When I wrote this song 8 years ago, I borrowed the atmosphere - including unique drum beat - of the progressive rock song in the 1980’s, which is one of my favorite tune of all time. (Can you name the song title?)

A large part of this song was recorded by the electric guitar which was customized to generate a sitar-like sound.

Sounds Strange, Weird, But Unmistakably Romantic - that’s the best description of springtide’s music, as well as the title of his latest EP series.

Springtide is based in Tokyo, Japan. Released the first album “Just Before April” in 2008, followed by “This is the End” in 2015 which is an experimental album featuring acoustic guitars while it sounds like instrumental Electronic music.

To pursue that path, springtide is now focusing on Guitar-based Electronic music which also falls into Post-Rock or Future Funk, and is mostly instrumental.

Springtide has been supporting avid filmmakers and videographers by providing inspiring soundtracks for their project which are essentially free to use under Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA license.
