Locked away in sonic solitude, Mind Vortex have been building these next four cuts with absolute precision. And being such a pivotal signing for the RAM imprint, it’s no surprise that this EP has been met with almost unbearable anticipation.

Few acts capture the vibrancy and pent-up energy that Mind Vortex commands. Another charged assault on the ears, the ‘Colours EP’ is definitely a return to form. An impressive feat, having already set the bar high with tracks like ‘Hotbox’ being showcased on label head Andy C’s revered Nightlife series.

With an authoritative vocal sample leading you ear-drums first into the mix, ‘Underworld’ is foreboding from its first bass riff. A jittering coaster ride, this is roller explodes on impact, taking you deep into its namesake. The artists manipulate synth in a way which often can’t be matched, distorting sounds and smashing the prototype to pieces with carefully fashioned hits of drum. 

One of their biggest releases to date, expect this EP to resound in both underground dancehalls and the headphones of dnb-heads everywhere. These four blasting production behemoths will ensure that Mind Vortex stay on the agenda’s forefront.

All conquering UK rap crew Foreign Beggars, who recently teamed up once more with long time collaborator Alix Perez on their Modus EP, call on another of drum & bass's biggest talents to give the EP's title track a 170 refix. Here at Data Transmission we bring you the exclusive premiere of Calyx & Teebee's Modus remix. Retaining the minimal nature of the hip hop original, the half time intro draws you in: Metropolis spits his fire bars before it twists and switches into a techy, bass driven beast. Orifice Vulgatron handles the breakdown, his rapid fire delivery amping you up for round two with more ice cold percussion edits.

Since Document One stormed onto Technique's roster, this production duo have set about marking out their very own niche in the D&B spectrum. Songwriters' musicality and an appreciation for multiple genres, while still keeping focus firmly on the dancefloor, makes for a powerful combination. Now, with this latest release, they're back to consolidate their status and draw together some more threads in their ongoing multi-form musical narrative.

“I Got a Fever” wastes no time in laying out the formula. A swing-time low-end perforates smoky jazz club ambience, with loose percussion holding down the beat. The bass morphs between upright plucks and synthetic sweeps to neatly underline Document One's approach of providing a slick modern twist on foundation sounds. As the track builds, a vocal sample signals its time for the bass and drum to tighten up and drop into a cowbell-led funkstepping ride. This is summer music, as much about fun and partying with a smile on your face as it is about serious musicianship.

Then there's a whole different take on the summertime vibe for “Follow Me”. Ethereal vocals float over crisp and punchy drums, accompanied by long liquid bass tones, delicate trumpet and laid-back keys. It's a gentle soulful roller... But then it's suddenly not that at all. Document One puncture the atmosphere like a sharp intake of breath and kick us with a boot made from filthy bass. And now the light and floating sounds from before just serve to accentuate the heavyweight drive of the rave engine this tune has become. When the dancefloor needs a kickstart, here's one to draw for.

So, Document One have proved once again that they not only understand the palette of sounds and textures offered by jazz, funk and soul, but they're also willing and able to twist them into their own paradigm. They make music to make musicians nod in appreciation, but to make everyone else rave hard.

Spring Tube Liquid' 7th release is the next debut in the liquid d&b genre of another of our main label's artists. This time we see here one of Spring Tube's young favorites Alexander Smirnov aka Slam Duck.

After signing with us his several smooth and melodic deep house works (some of which we'll present you soon on the main Spring Tube) Alexander has also produced two liquid drum'n'bass tracks for our Spring Tube Liquid imprint. The result is 'Secret Garden' EP.  And this is definitely yet another debut of which we're proud. Gorgeous stuff!

Spring Tube was founded in autumn of 2009. Owner / A&R manager - Sergey Slang. 

The label is focused on the high-quality various genres emotional and melodic electronic music from artists all over the world. 

We have three separate divisions:
- Spring Tube (deep house, deep/progressive house, nu-disco/indie dance, breaks, chillout);
- Spring Tube Limited (progressive house, tech house, deep/melodic techno);
- Spring Tube Liquid (liquid drum'n'bass).
